What type of paintball are you guys most likely going to play? The markers you picked are primarily woodsball guns, and if speedball is your game, than there are better choices. For woodsball, they are going to be solid, reliable performers.

I have a US-5 mech. It has A-5 styling at a much cheaper price, and just has a good sturdy feel to it.

I didn't buy the Tippy because I didn't like the open internals, and the local paintchop has said that they have ssen a decline in quality since production was moved over seas.

The BT-4 just felt kind cheap to me. I can't really explain it better than that. But when I was at my local shop, I got my hands on the US-5, the 98C and the BT-4. I just didn't like the feel of the BT-4.

The Tac-5 is the low end of these markers. It is the cheapest, but you get what you pay for. They seem to be okay at best, and better quality markers aren't that much more expensive.

None of which are mech markers, which I think was his point.

He did not specify if he wanted a mech marker or not, so I'm giving him a better recommendation. Either way there are better mechanical markers for cheap out there, like the Autococker or Automag. They would still be better than the guns he listed.

Yes you can, very easily. Refurbished Pilot's are better, and are $60 cheaper than the BT-4. If you're lucky enough, you may find a used Ion, or Wrath, for that cheap. You can also find used Autocockers and Automags for that same price or less.

id say bt-4 is the toughest, however I prefer the feedneck on the 98 and the cyclone on the a5. the bt4 has the easiest internals you codul imagine for working on and is built tougher then anything. id recommend it 100% only thing im not a fan of is the feedneck. other then that i think the bt-4 is awsome!

buy the pcs or the tippmann. Instead of a normal 98 custom, buy a custom pro, it comes better stock and can support an egrip. (eventhough the 98 custom can, except there is some modifcation involved.

no mods are needed to get egrip into a 98 if its new. its the same as the custom pro as far as the body goes and the grips just a different trigger plugged in

I personally would go with the tippmann 98c. I've shot spyders, diablo's, tippmanns, Angels, etc.. and the best beginner gun - I think - is the 98.You can get them used for like $70. I have two and they work great. But the best idea for you would be to go to your local field and test fire them if you can

get an MR1 it's only $100 and is just as good as the other choices(by far the most reliable and durable spyder)
