For all positions though, snap shooting is essential. There is a thread on snap shooting on Strategies and Tactics. Go check it out. Usually snap shooting is best for front players, but all players should know how to. Snap shooting is getting an opponent posted on you, and when theyre sticking out, you lean out, get 2 or 3 shots off, and go back in.

wow, awesome article...whenever i try to do anything like this, my thread always ends up getting closed or deleted... wah...lol

with above, i disagree with the pack thing, at least on a personal level...2+1 is not even close to enough for me(i play front)...personally, i htink a 3+2 is best, but i'ma be using a 4+3 in any case.

there are a bunch of great articles on field positions on pbstar as well...their forums are worth nothing, but their articles are teh win.

bunkering

"win as a team", just basic stuff

communication

Back player

front player

snapping

those are all great articles

I dont use front, mid, back. I split my team into squads, based on their skills. I balanced every squad. Do u have any advice for me?

My team is new.

I thought that dude was funny.

For 3 man i feel a good strategy is to pick of the players 1 by 1. It puts the other team on defence. So then we sorround them and they are stuck. So we play either 2 front, 1 mid/front, or 3 front. Matters what team we are playing, though.

O ya, nice thread.

my team is split into two squads as well, but u still need to split the players into what position they're gonna play in the two squads.

Squading is ok, but it all boils down to front mid and backs. If they're balanced like you do say, then you have a good front back and mid. If you mean squads by like what bunkers theyre in, then it can sometimes(NOT ALWAYS) come down to the same thing again. Bigger bunkers are usually in the back-25, ex beer cans aztechs, etc. Med bunkers are for mid/front like dog house, snake, etc. There are exceptions like the X in xball, of course so don't hold me to this. Also someone said they focus on one player. Well, this might be all well and good in YG or rookie, but you will get rolled in novice and up. The longer the games and more people there are, and better talent of course, the smart people get and more they notice. If I notice that you havent layed a shot at me and Im technically a back player, then hell Im moving up. If its 10v1, you might get luccky but to me its a lot of wasted paint theyll just stay in and the other 9 on that team is going to either 1) light u up when your posted or 2) get to your 40 b4 you effin notice. Catch my drift? Thats another reason why doubling up is good. Its ok when you have someone coming out of both sides and all, but when you both go out the right or something one low one high(great with standups, I love doubleing up) then you can easily get someone out, only doubling up you must be small and know HOW to do it, its extremely important, and hard at first but once you practice and mold together as 2 people then you can be beast.

Just my 2 cents

nice, CR.

imo, doubling up is suicide...

even with a large bunker, it kills ur ability to see what's going on on the rest of the field, and you're forced to ur one side.

unless u can communicate really well with ur bunker-buddy ( ), its more of a crutch than anything.

i'd say avoid it no matter what.

Yes but, just think, If your in the back right laydown(lets say its big, like a laydown beercan), then your looking out the right. You've got mad lanes, if someone is in the middle, but you got a guy crossed up postin on you. Your dead without gettin the guy in the back out which is always possible and doubling up isnt essential, but you can get one guy to post on the back guy and then the one at the middle throwin lanes. But, you must switch it up a lot, you never sit still when your doubling up, because people detect patters. Its real easy, you might be good and all at snap shooting but DO NOT DO IT IN PATTERNS. It's suicide. Thats why you switch it up a lot, and i mean a lot and its so easy to communicate, if you dont your not a good backplayer in the first place.

There was only one joke, and it wasn't really a joke til he said it was.

Also it is meh..imo...some fronts are the ones to blow open the game.

Or maybe it's cus I play a more mid game cus I shoot a lot of paint.

there were more than one...it was the same thing, just repeated...he was all, "ok...no jokes, so i wont make any jokes", then later, he'd be, "no jokes...no jokes...i can do this", and it'd repeat...

...

i think in any case, labeling someone as back, front, or especially mid is always gonna be somewhat of a general and very loose term...but w/e

Packs, a preference

When you guys say that if your a three man team, you need at least a 4+3 for back, i disagree, i am a backman for a ametuer 3 man team and i carry only 4 pods with me. Off the break i go through about 1/3 of my hopper. After the break, i just shoot slowly but constantly, and 4 pods makes if for me. It definatly depends on personall playing style.

I play back for our 3 man and think a 4+3 is the minimum you should have. cause it carries 4 pods comfortably, and you could carry 7 if you have to.

I personally carry 4 pods in a 3man game and when we do 5man I'll carry 7. I think you should always carry 1-2 more pods than you usually use because sometimes stuff happens and the paint in the pod gets broken or you spill the pod.

I'm thinkin about gettin a 5+4 because I hate carrying pods on the outside loops because your pack bounces around alot and its easy to spill pods. Maybe I'll just buy 3 Dye Lock-Lids....
