At action village Halo b is going for 103.99. Empire reloader b is going for 139.50. So yes it is a little more. $35 more. My Halo is very tempermental-or at least mental when it comes to seeing paint. If it has a black streak in it forget it, I'm chopping. I guess a better thing to tell you is with a halo you must be on your toes at all times as to what color your paint is.
The reloader b you just fill and go.

Alright, I'm confused. I just spent 4 hours reading through this whole thread and I still don't know which one is better.

the thing to ask is do you want a fast loader? and/or reliable? both? do you use 1 kind of paint and color? does it have any black or dark colors on the paintball? If so, then you probably don't want a Halo B. Depending on the speed you want, you may be happy with a reloader B, or egg with a Z Board, or possibly a vlocity. Depends on the speed you want and the money you want to spend. What kind of gun are you puting it on?

Right now I have a B2K4 with a Chaos board, so it will shoot 20bps pretty easy. It does have eyes. I currently have an Egg with a Z board on it. I only gave 30 dollars for the hopper, so it works pretty good for that. My team is going to start playing in some tournaments soon, so the gun will have to be capped at 15bps.

It will drain your batts just like every other hopper. Take your batts out. I haven't replaced my battery in 4 months, it's amazing how products differ.

Leaving the batteries in the loader for prolonged periods can cause problems anyway - the battery contacts may weaken, and the batteries could leak, so it is always best to remove the batteries at the end of the days play.

Yea, the battery prongs will eventually weaken and or break. Although the breaking is highly unlikly, I have seen it happen.

egg with y-board?
ok, so when I buy my marker I've decided that I'm definitly going with an egg. I noticed on most sites, the egg is for sale for about $69. They don't mention anything about any kind of board, and I'm wondering if the y-board is an upgrade, or if that's just what it has. If it is an upgrade, are there any sites selling it with the y-board included? I've looked at lots of sites and it only ever says "eVLution Egg blah blah", and never anything about a y-board or a z-board. I'm assuming the z-board is an upgrade, but what about the y-board?

The Y-board was not the original stock board, and was made available as an upgrade for older Evlution 2s. However, after the Y-board was released for sale, it entirely replaced the stock board in production, and was supplied as standard equipment with all new Evlution 2 loaders from that point on.
That was a few years ago now, and any new Evlution 2 you buy now should have the Y-board installed already.

Hmm i think i'll go for Halo B. At the moment i have Evolution II but it is extremely hard to clean it. Dam i hate that job. I thought that i'll take Halo B with new Hybrid shell (should be very easy to clean). What about Vlocity vs Halo B? Halo B has also rip drive, what about it? I havent used Halo ever.

HALO B versus VLocity isn't the subject of this thread, but basically boils down to reflective eye versus break beam eye. Break beam eye invariably wins, with hardly any paint detection problems (the paint would have to be clear, with clear shells for the break beam to not see it).
The Rip Drive is a way of manually tensioning, or untensioning, the drive cone spring, so allows you to chrono your marker without turning it on, allows you to keep playing (in a limited fashion) if your motor fails or your batteries run out, and can be used to try and clear jams by reversing the drive cone.
The VLocity has an auto reverse anti-jam mechanism, reversing the motor when the loader senses a jam. It also has eight adjustable tension settings. It is a fair deal lighter than the HALO B.
