I used Windex to clean my mask about twice, and after reading this article I picked up my mask and hit my mask and hit the goggle with my knuckles and there it was a little crack, if not reading this I proabbly would be blind, thank you so much.

if you have water in the "crease" where the lenses go into, use a q-tip and it will work.

ok, I have the black/white JT mask from wal-mart (yaya I know) I have only used warm water on them, and I have gotten gogged a few times. The lense itself doesn't have cracks, but it has this filmy type stuff on the outside of it, maybe as in peeling. I don't know how to explain it, but my vision is blurred, I have tried water and paper towels, over and over, and it won't come off. It appears that I can scratch this stuff off, but I fear I'll just blurr my vision even more. Sorry I couldn't explain any better, but what should I do? New lenses, or just go ahead and buy a good mask at my local paintball store?

How do you replace the lens on goggles?
98% of the American teenage population has done or tried pot. If you are one of the 2% who hasn't, put this in your profile.

The best way to prevent fog is not with chemicals or any other junk. Its called a bandana. I use a sweetband personally (wilson tennis to be exact), but its up to you (hats work too). Ever wonder why the pros in your paintball magazine are wearing bandanas or hats with there mask? It's not to look cool, thats for sure. Fog is maily caused by sweet (warm) from you face drooling under/around the foam of the mask and causing it to get all foggy. Sometimes even with a hat or whatever, the sweet that develops from the part of your face actually within the foam, is still enough to cause it to fog. This will happen a lot quicker without something stopping the extra sweet though. If fog is still a problem using an bandana, thats were anti-fog stuff and thermal lenses come in. I have never felt the need for a thermal lense, or extra anti-fog.

As for having problems with paint stuck between the lense and mask frame; I've never had this problem because I have a V-force. Although they are not hugely overpriced, you may still want to look at them. I have there cheapest one (armour) and have no problems.

Ok, I know this thread hasn't been used for a while, but I was wondering if silicone is alright. The cloth says it produces a very thin "silicone oil" for luster and anti-glare. It has worked very well on masks in the past. Maybe it's safe?

Well I have read through the whole thread and this is what I got out of it.

Basically, water is the only thing you can use to clean your lens. Just read the manuel you get with your mask and it'll tell how to clean it. I won't think you could put your mask in the dishwasher. But like I said, the manuel will tell all you need to know on cleaning your lens and mask. I'm glad I read this, all my friends were telling me to use windex, I guess I have something to tell them now.

my local paintball shop dude says that the no windex thing isn't as true as everyone says it is... It wekeans but barely... And he is a very reliable sorce (you should see the amount of mvp trophies this guy has) anyway, the point is that the "windex wekening" theory was in my oppinion put out there for only the companies because they are making cleaners that they want to sell...

better safe than sorry??

why would u WANT to use anything other than water to clean it?

paint is water-soluble. unless you trip into a puddle of tar, you should be able to wash most anything off your lense with water.

it's cheaper than buying some B.S. cleaner.

if something other than water has ANY CHANCE of damaging my lense, then why should i take the chance when water does the THE EXACT SAME THING, if not better?

anything you hear online will just be anyone's opinion, no matter how educated or informed.

It's pretty easy to remove once you get the hang of it..

Your mask should have came with instructions. Incase it didn't here is the link for the user guide:

My word of advice: wash your google in the dish washer. It works wonders. Also put all of your other gear in there, i.e. barrels, pods, clothes, anything and everything. It is great.
