If these apply: - You have marginal paintball knowledge
- The Pimp is NIB
- They are going for the same price
- The price is sub $400
- You have Air and a good Hopper
Then I'd suggest the Evil Pimp.
Otherwise, go for the Ion. Some people say Ions are too commonplace, but I don't think ones with Razor body kits are all too common.

conditions in which i would take an ion (well it would need these for me to own one anyways but still)
scythe trigger (so sweettttt...one of the best triggers IMO)
qev (one that doesnt leak, one of the drop in ones, not an eclipse)
new detents (kila, or custom ones)
clamping feed
new baord
with these upgrades an ion would outperform a pimp (and with that trigger and a good baord it will shoot as fast as most guns)
optional
bolt
frames
reg

I would suggest an HP tank because there will be no chance for drop off.

Yep, go for a HP tank. With a LP tank, your gun can be starved for air or you might experience fsdo or shootdown.

Great choice, and yea definatly a hp tank.
Where are you buying it from?
If you ever need help with it or have any questions im available most of the time.
And to the person who said the ion would beat the pimp, thats highly doubtful. By the time u put in the new board, new reg, trigger, barrel, feedneck, and bolt and qev for speed, efficiency and consistancy. Youve just put a few hundred more, and still wont perform the same. Pimps easily compare with the 1k+ high ends without a problem. Just their looked down upon by alot of ppl who dont use them or had bad experience with the first gen. ones.
And then the select few who complain about it bc a so and so at their field used one and it was crap, or they tested it out and they thought it was crap which is almost always a case of the owner not the gun.

So you took an impulse over an ion? Wow...your choice I guess. And Impulses/pimps can't even look at high ends. Sorry.

haha your funny. Evil Impulse hammer-Why? bc evil makes it.
Impulse feedneck threading-Why? Bc piranha feednecks have the same threading so it would be easy to thread the gun for it.
Impulse threaded barrel-Why? Bc impulse barrels are the quickest to get off guns (excluding twist and lock since theres no threads). 3 Threads, very quick twist and the barrels off ready to be cleaned.
As far as the rest goes, Timmy noid, timmy/piranha detents,Timmy LPR, Timmy Ram.
Read up one the Pbn FAQ on evil's pimp your soon figure out that its not a so called "glorified impulse" or "souped up impulse". Sure it originally started as a impulse upgrade kit taking away almost everything impulse about the gun, till evil said hey why dont we just make it into our own production gun.
Out came the PIMP.

What do I have to learn? I know a bit more than you. It's pretty damn simple. Evil made a ton of Impulse accesories. How could they sell more? By designing a gun on the impulse platform. Why do you think you can use impulse LPR's on pimps and such. Having those timmy parts doesn't make it anything close to a timmy, seeing as you can put them all into spyders. No matter how you spin it a pimp is a souped up impulse, although I don't blame you for trying to say otherwise.

pimp uses timmy lprs. Thats what their threaded for.
The pimp consists of more timmy parts then anything. And its thinner then a impulse, no tray.
whats a ego... a timmy, timmy is a spyder, any stack tubed gun is a spyder basically.

Did you just call the ego a spyder? No, not at all. Not even close. And you can throw timmy LPR's on spyders, so pimps are really nothing special.
