You can but about 300$ into an Ion and it will proabbly be just as good as a Pimp but tahts 280+300= 580 compared to the 600$ for the pimp with 68/4500 pimp might be heavy but its soo much nicer and comes with a evil pipe

I say " Pimp all the way". Ions are no where near the quality of a Pimp.

Pimps are only better if you get them for under $400.

I disagree, other than their weight and the trigger they're amazing, especialy the 7.0 with ghetto board.

Pimps are higher quality than an ion, but they also cost more. If you can get one for cheap(sub 550), that is your best bet.

I like the Ion better. But that's a bias, because I have never used a pimp in a game, and I own an Ion.

The pimp is higher quality how so? If you are talking about material used to make them I disagree on everything except the trigger.

They are built on the same machines as shockers.

I know thats why epople classsify the Ion clsoe to the SHocker the only differance is weight and also they use the same components adn parts but the shockers parts are more durable.

pimp definatly > ion.
Evil will blow SP's so called "warranty" off the face of the earth anyday. Ive owned sp products, didnt like any of them. Although i havn't used a qlock which i think might be the only thing SP i ever buy again..
To make a ion perform as good as the pimp youd need a good barrel or barrel kit say 50-150.
new reg 50-100
new trigger 20-40
bottomline 30-50
qev-20
every1 knows clamping feednecks are better then oring 30-40
new board-??? don't know exact prices, then again t-board and blackheart are only 2 i know of.
Then u may have fairly close accuracy, consistancy, speed, adjustability.
But then youve spent double the pimp. Pimp is by far the greatest deal out there for a gun, especially since they can be found new for as low as 300, generally around 400-450. And considering the prices can be found for that new, and you can sell a used one for 375-450 i say thats pretty good.
About the weight, by having a 3 lb gun if you really feel a difference between that and a gun a half lb to a lb lighter when u put on a hopper and tank and u feel that its too heavy, then you should just quit. By the time a tank and hopper is added the weight of the 2 is barely noticeable.
To keep weight down would be using a 45/45 and a apache which would equal to a stock ion with 68/45 and halo B or fairly close anyway.
And if you dont like the weight of the pimp, for the money youd save in the long run you could easily get it milled and make the gun lighter then a shocker.

^^^ True, I always said weight wasn't a big deal but if you play scenarios from time to time it gets annoying carrying around that 7lb thing while walking up and down hills for about a mile or so. But in speedball weight really doesn't matter.
