Building a custom Ion from scratch? Here's what you need to know.

Seems to me now that the full range of brands have put out custom parts worthy of creating an entire Ion from scratch (save for a few minor parts, banjos, hoses, screws, etc.) I figured I'd be nice and assemble a thread with a full range of parts geared toward creating a custom Ion from scratch. I realize there is an upgrade thread, but I hope to lay this out for the specific aforementioned purpose. And with that, here we go!

I agree. And, I see what you're trying to do ArisugawaSorata. Unfortunately, everyone will still post asking which are the best. But, very good post. Hopefully people use your information and research the reviews.

Nicely done. I vote sticky.

BTW, they'll also need macroline/fittings and orings on the bolt, boltstop, etc if they don't come with them..

Also, I linked the boltstop w/ o-rings from punisherspb, and all other bolts listed should have all o-rings when they come. But yes, good to reinforce that need. Most people who know enough to build a custom Ion will probably think of those things.

Thanks for the sticky requests guys, hopefully the mods will catch it.

You might also want to put in the Shocktech O-Ring Kit for the extra O-Rings you might need. Also, put in the Stock Smart Parts bodies for good measure.

Sticky.

Sticky. And i would add the shocktech shell since that is B.O.B. and also the the evolve pi reg needs to added. Also note that the lucky stage 1 comes in two different materials aluminum and lbm. You are also missing the check it breach.

Check-it Breech, Evolve Pi, and Shocktech o-ring kit added. Smart parts bodies added, but I'd assume most custom builders wouldn't worry about them. Also, the bodies section isn't supposed to be a comprehensive source, there are far too many out to list all of them.

There will be 2 more Ion bodies coming out. The Naughty Dawg's shell and Russian Legion shell. Those should be cool. Great job, i agree on making this a sticky.
