Sounds like a plan. Except I'd be kinda worried about paintball shop owners who just like screwing people over. The shop owners in my town are like that and they'd also want a huge sum of money for the information they gave you. But other than that, your idea sounds really good.

I can hook you up for a proshop in washington (Splat Attack) they are very reputable around hereand by the prices on their stuff, they wouldn't ask for much money either.

yea that is what the paintball shop is like in my town, they over price everything, if your gun has a leak in the valve and u cant get to it so u bring it in to them, it could be a cracked o ring and they will charge $50 or $60 just for the friggen o ring.

from a legal standpoint, this idea could be a nightmare. There would have to be explicit rules in place releasing the third party from liability so the third party doesn't get royally screwed and to avoid paying unecessary legal fees. I could go into detail and there's other considerations I'd make as well but I'm short on time and you guys would get bored reading about them. I think I still have some of the contract and implied risk work we did for a marine sales escrow organization a few years back. It wouldn't take much more than changing the wording around to release the third party from most of the liability issues.

Anyhow, I've been screwed over on eBay recentely and will never trade through them again. So to finally get to the point, I think it's a good idea based on my recent experiences.

I think using Palmer's is a great idea, since it is relatively cheap and it seems trustworthy. I mean, who heer doesn't trust Palmer?

It's a good idea..you just got to have a good 3rd party that won't try to rip you off

I'm gonna probably need to do this soon as I am in the process of negotiating a trade.

Sounds great. I'd rather pay extra shipping then lose hundreds of dollars. Good idea. I hope it works, and I'll help if you need me to.

FYI

Adrenaline (Buypb.com, specifically) now offers a third-party trading service. Check it out here if you are interested: http://www.buypb.com/3rdparty.asp.

You know what would even be safer is to use say Escrow. zIt is a company that does just that. Really safe I have used it once.

Wouldn't it be easier to have a single dealer, like palmers, provide the service instead a web of dealers? Lets say Mr. Smith does a good job, but goes on vacating for a week and some kid (Mike) runs the shop for that week, and doesen't know much about paintball gear

The point is to get a shop near someone so you can save on shipping. Not to mention, not everyone may like one particular place. Ah, capitalism.

Ah, honesty from everyone.

That would rule.

Until then, we are also offering a third party service.

Ten bucks a man, and the shipping (actual shipping, not $25 per marker.) is the cost.

We ship FedEx insured, so you know your stuff will get to you undamaged, and we test everything before it goes out the door.

For more info on this service, go here.

Also, for a real person testimonial, talk to willybob from this forum. He is the latest person to use the Logic Third Party Trade service.

His marker was damaged by the apes at UPS, so I fixed it, and worked out the deal with the other trader. It all worked out nicely, as I am sure he will tell you.

Just letting you guys know of another option that is open to you.

It really sounds like a good idea. YET. there are a great deal of things that can go wrong with it. and it seems like a lot of work. I think it would be great for Markers, but anything else seems like to much work for. And as long as we can get some Dealers in each state or smaller area that will be kinda dedicated to this. It really sounds like a good idea. I really hope it works out well. and i look forward to using it for my future markers!
