Third Party Trading!

I think it is a good idea. It will definetly impact the security of transactions/trades/ and such among users but I think that it has to be an optional service. ( I am not sure whether or not that was implied or not). Due to extra costs and such the descision should be left up to the buyer/seller. Also, you have to organize shops from many different areas and have them be willing to participate. It would not be a good if Billy wanted to ship something to Johny from Conneticut to New York but first send it to Mr. Smith's shop in California (an obvious exegaration but I think you get my point). Overall, not a bad idea but would require the commitment of someone to really get it going as well as participation froms users and third party groups/stores.

The basic service is simple. We recieve the goods, and the trade or payment. We verify they are what the parties claim, and send them on. For the premium service we tear them down and function test them.

sounds like a great idea, and i think that if you got a couple places (like 6 across us and canada, that would probably cover it....) then it would be a great system......

and i think that if it wasnt mandatory, only optional, it would be great...... or just have a sticky on the buy/sell forums of the escrow companies, and how toship to them......

although, i dont think i would really like paying 20-30$ more on a 50$ barrel, but for markers and tanks and stuff, it sounds excellent

So whatever became of this idea? I'm currently going through a situation that would be resolved by 3rd party system not costing me an arm and a leg.

My idea would be have a network of select stores/mods/agents/ trusted members who charge a nomial fee for this service ($10-20 {plus preferred shipping ie 3day express for the gun and priority mail for the money} sounds like a good amount considering the large amount of trades/sells that go through pbreview and the ease of testing a gun). I say a netwrok because this way you can either find one close to you on in between you and the other guy. Now these stores/people wouldn't be just anyone. they'd have to be people who's reputation/honor is worth more to them than a nice gun or lots of money. They'd have to meet some list of qualifications (have a good rep, contacts, availabilty, they love their mama) and be approved by lets say the sr. mods or the admin here.

If I wrote all this for nothing perhaps a list (or a website with the list) of should be sitckied to this and maybe the general forums.

We do a third party system as well (only we call it by its real name...escrow)

We charge 10%(plus S&H) of the overall total price or if it is a marker to marker trade we establish a price before hand. We do a full marker/gear inspection to make sure everything is just as described.

i can inspect most low end markers and a few mid end for porblems.

i will charge $7 for just the third party stuff and $3 for test firing (very competitive to RCX's prices sorry rcx, but u never gave me that a-bomb )

There is a paintball shop in california that might do it for cheap. they have good service and often will check peoples guns if there is a problem and fix it for free. Its in Modesto and they are great.
