e bay scam
ok so almost 2 months ago i ordered an e2 cocking solenoid and manifold for my cocker. I spend 102.77 for these parts, from someone with 100% positive feedback on ebay. I sent him a money order which he said he received on july 16th. He claimed to have sent the solenoid and i should have it. When 3 days had gone by after the first solenoid was sent, i said i didnt have it. I was told he was going to next day another solenoid to me. So a week later i still didnt have a solenoid. I went on vacation for a week then, and when i got back he wouldnt respond to my messages unless they said legal action in them, then i got a very defensive response. I hav not gotten any messages since august 15th. I am beyond sick of waiting for this, and have since bought a second solenoid. By now i just want my money back, but i do not know what to do at this point.

Ouch, first thing first, don't pay for stuff with anything but PayPal. There is pretty much no way to get your money back unless the guy decides to send it, at least with PayPal the choive isnt his.
Have you checked the tracking numbers for the packages, if you have the #'s that is.
Be persistant with the guy, but don't threaten him. Just stay calm and polite in your emails and see if you can get somthing worked out. If 28 days goes by since the time you bought the item, file a complaint and fraud thingy with Ebay.
Good Luck.

Pay with PayPal?
Start a PP claim against him. File a police report with his local police, if you have his location.

Paypal isn't the only way - credit cards allow stop payments, and there's also escrow (but that's only for bigger purchases)
It may not have been the guy's fault it could have been the shipping company. Most people you can work together with to find a solution (assuming he's telling the truth, sounds like this guy went the extra mile by sending a second item). If the guy is a real jerk, ebay services might be able to resolve matters.

i sent a cashiers check. By this point, i dont think the guy really sent a solenoid, as he has stopped replying to my messages.

Not really...you can sue in small claims court. Depending on where you live, you can file a small claims case for up to $5000, anything above that is handled by a civil court.
All it costs to file a small claims case is maybe $30-$50. Again this depends on where you live.
You don't necessarily need a lawyer to file a smalls claims case, just need evidence.

There's external costs as well - driving (or flying if you both have to meet at one location - dunno how it works), time off from work... by the time you are done you are going to be out more than what you came to collect, I'd imagine.

Yes it is usually cheaper to hire some no neck in his area to trash his car or break his windows.
please do not do this
I once bought some stuff from a lady who actually died before she could send all her stuff out.
i used paypal, so I got the money back when she failed to respond to the dispute.

SInce you have his address since you used a money order, look up his phone number with www.whitepages.com
Also call the local police department in his city and explain your situation to them.
