New Paintballer w/ some ?'s

Hey guys im a new paintballer from NY and got some questions;

I need a good cheap reliable gun to start off with. All i keep reading about is tippman because of their quality to price aspect and how they are a good starter gun.
Im not looking to spend a ton cause its my first gun but which model and parts are good to start off with? maybe you recommend a barrell, stock, grip or something along those lines? Also i was hoping i could get some mask suggestions too.
And finally can anyone personally recommend some fields or clubs to get started with in the NY area (im right above nyc, 20 min out)

as far as mask go it all about feel to you try several on I enjoy the feel of v-force mask, profiler or grill. they give you a wide range of view. Some people swear by flex but I personally dont care for them . What ever you buy make sure its a good quality mask or you will hate it . The ones at the big box stores are not worth buying they will fog and make for a lousy day of paintball. If theres a paintball shop in your area go there and try a few different styles on, they will be happy to help you . look on this fourn at the top of the page for field listings most have a website and most have a pro shop . good luck
