My best round under tournament conditions was last week.
Playing it down, walking
Shot a 50 on the front 9
then shot a 40 on the back
I think I'll be shooting in low/mid 80's by the end of summer, riding on carts and practicing more. I can do better if I play it up too.
/On a course I had only played once before
//I was sooo mad after the front 9.

I'd recommend taking just 1 lesson, to sort of let you know what to do, its surprising how much 1 lesson helps.

I never took lessons. This will be my 2nd year. If your friends are pretty good at golf they should be able to point you in the right direction. Its all up to you really. If your friends are new also lessons might be the best.
Also if old folks tell you stuff be sure to listen to them. Some of the best advice came from old folks that could hardly stand. |

I was on the golf team for 2 years without a lesson, but once I got my first lesson, just on the basics of swing and grip theory, it helped me a lot.

Yeah, very much so. Just too many personality differences. And not bad things per se, but things that didn't work together (i.e. she needed attention all the time, and I needed people to back the  off sometimes).
