No, homo. But it's all good.

Girl cancelled on me. It's cool, though. She said she really wanted to see me next time I was in town and now all my friends and I are getting pizza and partying.

lol @ koreans taking eachother out to give Ohno and Celski medals in short track, they nearly had the sweep. was amazing how dominant Ohno's passes were in earlier rounds.

and holy ****, hoehner sideways at 80mph and somehow rolls back on the sled and finishes the run. im not scared of many things, but sliding feetfirst on a tiny sled down an ice pipe at those speeds is something i am content to never try.

oh, and charles barkley is hilarious. if anyone was watching the nba allstar contests you know what im talkin about.

Good news: Just got home from a record store and purchased a bad*** record.

Bad news: Went to Hollywood to see No Age in a tiny bookstore, we get there and only got to see 10 minutes of them playing. No Age is amazing too.

What'd you get?

Good News: I'm fixing up a really old guitar that we had lying around. It's a First Act, but by the time I'm done with it, the only thing that will actually be First Act is the body and neck. Also, I stayed out all night with friends and partied.

Bad News: I don't think there is any.

Females should also be able to drive a standard. But I was talking about my male friends, since many of the guys I hung out with in college couldn't drive stick. More of my post-college friends can drive stick but it's still not as many as I'd like. Everyone SHOULD be able to, but it's dying off. Very sad

clutch pedal > those people. its entertaining to watch them fail though.

even among people who drive stick every day, so many are still bad at it. i think partly because they dont even understand how the transmission works. and only one other person i know can work 3 pedals at once. i guess you dont need to know how to heel and toe, but it makes for better control and much smoother turns when downshifting imo, especially on exit ramps and the like.

why would it be necessary to learn something on the down end of technology?

No one NEEDS to learn how to drive a manual.

i wouldnt call it the down end of technology, considering manual provides a great deal more control than any automatic. and can yield better gas mileage. and is simpler to repair. and cheaper to buy. and generally delivers slightly more horsepower to the wheels.

If you are short on cash, buying a manual will save you a buttload.

If you go to a number of countries and you dont know how to drive stick, you wont drive.

Manual cars, when driven correctly, will save gas.

yes, people so often forget this. just because the vast majority of cars in the US are auto, its not the case in many other places.

plus you never know when you might need to drive someone else's car in an emergency. its definately worth spending a little time to learn how to work a clutch, even if you dont own a manual.

I have worked at two places that that had manual trucks. Kinda hard to tell your boss that you need someone to drive you around because you can't drive a manual.
I have never owned a manual, but my dad did and that is what I learned on.

Okay, lets take everyone's conversations into perspective.

Common people, live in the US. Do they NEED to learn how to? No.

These people, they go to another country (which manual cars are commonly driven as you stated) or have to drive a manual for a job. Then learn how because then you have to.

I'm not anti standard or anything. I can drive them just fine. But i've always had an automatic car. I just get irked when there are the "You can't drive manual? You can't even drive." type of people. (not saying any of you are.)

Just my view.
