There is a reason they are everywhere. Fast and relativley cheap. Personally I would rather the R6, RR or ZX-6. But I can easlily understand why someone would want a GSXR-6

Did you have coverage for your bike Evil?

Gonna try and take MSF over winter break and get that M on my license, then figure Imma start out with a Ninja 250 to learn on and hopefully not die on. I kno its easy to out grow but I feel like I would be very content for a long time taking corners tight and banging through gears. On the RR bikes by the time youre out of 2nd youre doing like 100, whats the fun in that unless youre on a track? If I really dig riding and want something faster Id probably just find a cbr600 or something and eventually start tracking it.

Well considering the 250 has a top speed of 110MPH I doubt you will reach 100MPH in 2nd gear. Considering my 650 wont even do that in 2nd.

But with the 250 at around $4,000 new. If its a cheap introduction bike you are looking for. Maybe look into the used market for an older 650. Which you can easily pick up for $4,000. I truley and honestly believe you will be very dissapointed in a 250. But at the end of the day. It is your deccison.

Its a 1974 Ironhead on a Paughco frame. And if you like that, you'll love my newest purchase:

And not to bust your balls Pea but 4k for a 250? Check gainesville, florida craiglist if you don't believe me but I believe I could get one for between 2500-3000 if i was of the mind to.

Thinking of getting a basic commuter bike.

I've seen used Honda Rebels going for <$2k

Just wanna have fun. Figure winter would be a good time to buy. Bikes are cheaper then, I would imagine.

Winter can be a good time to buy bikes. But I would wait until around or after Christmas when everyones wallets get really tight. But as far as the Rebel goes. They are great little bikes for what they are. I got to ride one when taking my course. But from a personal standpoint. If I was gonna get a smallbore commuter bike. I would be looking at the Enduros. Just for the reason that you get some more versatility out of them.

Enduros are off-road bikes with turn signals and head/tail lights, right?
Maybe taller gearing too?
