SP-1 select-fire bps
Has anybody tested their sp1 to see how fast it actually shoots on select-fire?
Mine was pretty lame. 8.67 bps.
I calculated by recording my gun in full-auto with the trigger held down for several seconds. I then choose to look at the middle 3 seconds. I counted the total number of shots in those 3 seconds, and divided them by 3.
The battery I was using was a brand new Energizer 9v.
I would be interest to hear what other SP1 users are getting out of their guns.

Also, I've noticed that the 3-round burst isn't always 3-rounds per trigger pull. For example, if it is a quick trigger pull, the gun may fire only once.

I wouldn't be surprised if that were an intentional feature for safety reasons. If you are up close to someone, know you can't miss, tapping the trigger will only shoot them once rather than hitting them with 3 balls.

You call that safety, I say conservation; no need to shoot 2 extra balls. But I agree, I think that it is intentional, so that you can just shoot once or twice if you want to (even though its kind of difficult to, you have to be off the trigger very fast), but it also might be something in the way the electronics work, being that you still have to hold it down like its in full auto, but then it stops after 3. Not sure, but I like it that way.

on the sp1 you have to hold the trigger down for the 3rburst to work and if you can time it just right its fast

Tapping the trigger once in a multi burst mode (that is not tourney legal) will give you one shot i believe. I got the same results w/ my Ion when i got it since it was set in 3 shot burst.

That's not really going to make a difference.

I know but atleast he won't be wasting his money on overpriced non-rechargable batteries.

Buy in bulk and don't leave the battery in while your not playing and they'll last awhile. Rechargeable tend to die over a time so when you think you have a full charge when you really don't.

Older thread, but for folks looking up this "condition", my SP-1 also will only fire the 3 round burst when the trigger is pulled for the duration of the burst. Tapping it will result in a single, or two, rounds fired.
This appears to be normal operation.

Did that really deserve a seven month "bump"?
