you know another idea, you could just buy the already manufactured rap4 magazines and alter them to fit the alpha

what i was asking about your simple magazines is, when you are carrying them (the spares) how do you plan on keeping the balls inside the magazine if the whole top is open?

I think the RAP4 mags have a trip on them that doesn't release the spring pressure until you load the magazine into the marker, which helps keep you paint from being ejected out while you are carrying it.

Maybe finding a way to mod your AB to use RAP4 magazines will be the better way to go. They've already done the work on designing reliable magazines.

I was reiterating your idea. It sure makes more sense than trying to build your own magazines.

Reading this, i got this crazy idea.
What if instead of using a spring to feed the paint through the mag, why not regulate some air pressure to the mag, but just enough to have continual pressure to lift the balls to the top of the mag, and with every shot, a burst more of air would push the new ball into the chamber, acting kind of like a cyclone feed.

Not the most ethical, perhaps....

but how would you get the air to run through the mag?

cyclones cost 60$ aftermarket, and i doubt he could make that mechanism himself, he would probably have to buy a cyclone and disassemble it for parts.

Then he would have to run air to the mag, in which case it could not be removed from the marker, he could only have one mag instead of multiples, he would have to hand load that mag every 20 shots while keeping it connected to the air source

and he would still have to keep the balls running on a track like discussed earlier, so its a heck of a lot of work for something when a 2$ spring has been proven to work just fine

That's why I'm planning on using the cyclone to drive something like a c-mag style hopper. No need to worry about removing the mag - you'd refill it with regular pods.

I see what your trying to do winding the paintballs through the magazine, but im no0t convinced that would work. That isn't in fact how rap4 makes their magazines. If you take a look at their clear magazines, you'll see what i'm talking about.

Why dont you just buy Rap4 magazines and mod them to fit the alpha black... im just wonderin why you want to reinvent the wheel

So at this point this thread is super old. Punkzrok, thanks for that picture, that seems to make more sense. So now I must ask Eagle: did you ever wind up making this?
