Pick up a 'cocker spring kit and do a good trial and error. Mine has a pretty light spring in it to achieve about 285 FPS, which is good enough for me.

Woot!

It turns out that Kingman still has parts available for the Hammers. I just called (1-888-kingman) to get a replacement safety and sight rail, and they said they had them.

It was $2 for the safey, and $9 for the sight rail. I don't know what else they have, but I am under teh impression they have a fair amount of parts left.

I was pretty surprised, they actually knew what I was talking about. They asked if I had the plastic or metal framed Hammer, (yea metal) which is more than most people know. I took it down to the local shop to get it chrono'd (270-280 I might add) and the younger guys weren't quite sure what to do with it. One guy was trying to cock it without air, and though it was broken because it wouldn't cock.

I can't claim any sort of amazing intelligence on the idea. I emailed Sundragon Paintball, I found their name in the Kingman forums, and they suggested it.

I know I just assumed that the guns were too far out of production for Kingman to still have parts. But I guess you know what they say when you assume...

Straight from Otters' Hammer pages: "Leak heard around the barrel/feed port would indicate a bad cupseal. Replace as needed. Another possibility is a weakened valve spring. Over time, these springs can become weak. Especially if it is the original spring. Lastly, check the o-ring on the powertube cap."

http://www.ottersccustoms.com/hammer.html - hands down, the best info I've seen on the Hammer.

I think they are threaded the same, but are slightly different sizes. I remember reading somewhere that the spyder cupseal is bigger, so it would need to be sanded down to the right size.

You might want to try calling Kingman (1-888-kingman), they might have what you are looking for. They had my safety and sight rail in stock.

But I don't know if I should be helpful, seeing as you are a Redskins fan... You know, it's against the law in Baltimore to root for the Redskins.

Ahhh the Ravens...gotta love Ray Lewis...Ravens are my favorite AFC team.
Anyway, I should be able to just dremel it down.

Yeah, this year should be... interesting. We'll see. I kinda have to laugh though, I remember hearing on the radio that Baltimore makes a lot more of the "Battle of the Beltway" then Washington does. Ravens fans are all fired up trying to prove something, and most Redskins fans just aren't that worked up over it.

But as for sanding your cupseal, the best way to do that is to mount the cupseal in your dremel or in a power drill, and keep the sandpaper stationary. I've done this with other round objects, and it works really well. You are basically using your drill in the same way as you would use a lathe, which is really the best tool to use for something like this.

I'm not 100% sure, there are a couple different Hammer models out there, but I think you can use a spyder grip frame.
