Question $250 gun / setup

I'm moving up from a mechanical spyder and have $250 on my side. I currently have some spyder barrels and run CO2. So if I bought an HPA only gun, I'd have to give over most of my budget to a tank.

SO----What is a good electronic CO2 gun for 250 max??

AR1? GameFace Vexor Eye? MR3? 98C with E-grip? Triumph eXT?

You can get some HPA tanks for like $60, but they are all aluminum instead of carbon fiber so they will weigh more, but if you want a nice marker and don't mind the extra weight you should look into those.

If you want to stick with CO2, I suggest buying an e-frame for your spyder and maybe another upgrade or 2.

well since you have spyder barrels i would recommend staying within spyder, you could get a vs2 and still be able to get an aluminum hpa, or a spyder pilot or imagine refurbed from firstcallpaintball.com if you want it cheap. the vs2 will run at around 170-185 depending on where you go

I would keep the gun the way it is, and save up more money. To have a really nice setup, you would need HPA, a new gun of course, and a new hopper. When you have another $100 on top of the $250, then think of really upgrading.

I am hearing a trend here. The issue seems to be more of a "how to use what I have and plan for the future" sort of thing versus "which marker to buy".

Thanks.

No its buy a Lasoya promaster/ion $60 tank. The VS2 is just a few years to late to be any real good. But i still say e-frame the mech. Aluminum tanks are heavy and have small shot capacity so getting an e-frame for the mech would allow him to use co2 while saving up for a CF HPA tank.

In my opinion, I would rather have a Promaster with an aluminum tank rather than a near stock e-Spyder with a 68/4500. If you can be patient, I still stand by my previous post.

Lasoya Promaster-$200
DP RAPS ASA+macro-$40
Egg 2/HPA combo-$100

Yeah it would be a fair setup and the aluminum tank would work. So yeah if he doesn't mind the extra weight and the way fewer shots per tank then i say go ahead.

Ok scratch what I said about the Lasoya Promaster. Theres a Rex R3 here on PBR for $100, they are really fun guns to shoot, but they aren't very efficient.

Rex R3-$100
Evil Detonator-$25
Egg2/HPA combo-$100

And then you have extra money for whatever you want, that is a good setup.

Alright, you should totally go in the right direction. You can easily put together a paintball package off of firstcallpaintball.com

Check out the link below. An ion, with a 48/3000 tank, a pack, some pods, a straigth shot, and 12v revvy. All for $254

http://www.firstcallpaintball.com/pa...99f76f2664fd32

Can't beat that.

If you buy used, you can get a much nicer deal than that.

Used:
Ion with ups
48/3000
Some pack with pods
Egg 2

That would cost about $250+, but still wouldn't be as good as a Lasoya Promaster with the other accessories.

Of course you can buy better stuff used. I have personally purchased a few used ion's now. I got an ion with a teardrop barrel, a 72/3000 tank, and halo B with rip for 220. Just recently i picked up for my brother an ion, with a 14' dye UL, cp drop with on/off, ndz snatch grip, VP Scythe trigger and dye sticky grips. I got this gun for $100 shipped.

There are some great deals to be had out there on used ion's, but i wouldn't recommend them to someone just starting out. The first thing i do when i get a used gun is take the entire thing apart, clean/lube everything, and replace all of the o-rings. I wouldn't was a first timer to get a gun and it have problems, then they have no idea how to fix it, and think ion's suck. I do it because i have the knowledge.

ya man, it would be great to go low pressure on ur spyder. so u can use spyder barrels still. It can get a lil expensive so i dont know if u would want 2 go that route. what i did when i went low pressure is increase my speed a lot. I got a rocking trigger frame and i'm getting a lucky board(hopefully). so right there, i doubled what the cost is just to go low pressure and increase speed.

i wouldn't suggest the ion if ur on a budget, because it takes 2 much money to get it just right. i would go with a VS 2/3 and an hpa tank. OR save a lil more and get a Promaster and hpa tank(but doesn't come with asa...so that might be another $30, or just get some used ion duck bill from a paintball shop. thats what i did). still, u have to worry about getting a nice hopper to feed those besats.

so if u want 2 go back to the low pressure thing like i suggested, but DON'T want to increase speed. then u will stay in the price range of that easily...

(not a speedball gun)
-barrel(u got those)
-hopper(not that important if u dont want speed)
-bolt
-spring kit
-striker
-valve
-new VA(or drill out ur own like i did..saves $30)
-regulator
-may b a bigger volumizer(low pressure chamber)

if u would like to continue with this way. then, comment back. otherwise look back to my 2nd paragraph

What about pirahnas? Aren't those Spyder threaded? I know they have the GTI or the Evo although that may be out of your budget. But its another option.

The A5 is a good choice, with the price going down a bit due to the X7's release. But anyway, with A5, you wouldn't a fast hopper or HPA.

My advice/opinion, get an A5, sell the barrels, and buy a good barrel for the A5. Cosmetic upgrades are your choice, bro.
