Marker Setup: Custom 98 Black w/ RT mod
Halo b smoke
SP wood grips
Polished internals
12" J&J
Lapco drop
Lapco RVA
ACI Bulldog 92-4500
Strengths: None
Weaknesses: The Mainspring guide pin was bent causing my rear bolt to get stuck.
Review: I picked mine up at my local paintball store. I took it home to installed it and saw that the mainspring guide pin was bent, but I tried it anyway. My rear bolt ended up getting stuck do to that bent pin. I want back to the store the next day and we found that the 3 he had left there were bent as well. I guess he got a bad batch of them, but that's enough for me not to buy it or recommend it to anyone.
Conclusion: Do to my experience I would say never buy a Lapco RVA. I bought a Lapco RVA, because I was happy with other Lapco products, But not this one. Don't get it

Marker Setup: Custom 98

Lapco Drop

Strengths: replaces plastic with metal
Weaknesses: velocity adjuster does not stay in
Review: I bought this peice for about $20 and thought it would be a decent upgrade as I would not need to use an allen wrench to turn the velocity up or down and liked that it would be replacing a plastic part. I put the part on and went out that weekend to see how it worked. It seemed to work alright at first that is until during the first game my balls started shooting softer and softer. I looked at the adjuster and saw that it had worked itself out and was on the verge of falling out. I screwed it back in and resumed my game remembering to check it so often. After the game I put teflon tape on the threads to see if that would help. It did not. I would have needed to put alot of tape on it to keep it from unscrewing so I just took the part off and replace it with the stock plastic peice. As you can see it is not in my marker setup as I will not be putting it back on. I thought about selling it to a freind of mine but that would just be mean to do to someone I know. I plan on selling it on ebay or taking out with me to the shooting range to see if I can hit it with my .45.
Conclusion: I guess if you need to have a rear velocity adjuster this could work with some modifcations and alot of teflon tape.

14" all american barrel
smart parts grips
spee t-cocker
lapco rva
lapco power feed
Strengths: easy to change
tourny lock
Weaknesses: takes a little time to get it right
Review: i really only got this so i could adjust the volocity in the back, just a personal prefrence i guess. the installation of the product was really easy. just take the back plug off and put this on instead. the first time i adjust the volocity at the field it took about 5 minutes to get everything right. i had to put the stock screw all the way in and turn the lapco on about half way out to get it right. its very consistant and my volocity doesnt really change anymore ussually a 5-10 change. its a good upgrade but like i said before its more of a personal prefrence to get this. but it does help consistancy. i also would recomend a spring kit.
Conclusion: good product. can notice a change in consitancey. also get a spring kit.

Adco Sure Shot Red Dot Sight
6 stage X-chamber
LAPCO rear velocity adjuster
empire reloader agitated hopper
Strengths: hands down the best 98 RVA out there
Weaknesses: It's not a necessity for a tippy
Review: The spring does not budge with this RVA. Also, it's not heavy or protrusive. In other words, it's not in the way. It makes for great adjustments at the chrony, now you can more or less do away with your velocity wrench and focus on the spring only.
Conclusion: It's a great RVA for a 98 at a good price. Lightweight and unobtrusive

Weaknesses: none
Review: this is one of the most usefull things i've bought for the tippy. once you get it adjusted with the stock va, you'll never need those allen wrenches to adjust.
we play alot of woodsball and the temp changes as the day goes so it's been really useful as the day goes so i can keep the gun shooting right.
easy to install (just watch out for your rear spring). and it will lock to.
Conclusion: it's not a have to have item, but it's great if ya get it
i'd give it a 10 if it made a bigger diffrence

This is the first Rear Velocity Adjuster I have used for the model 98. I have however used one on Kingmann Marker and find this to be quite camparable
Marker Setup: Tippmann Model 98; Polished Internals, Lapco Rear Velocity Adjuster, Tippmann Dropforward, ACI 4 Chamber Expansion Chamber, Tippmann Flatline Barrel, Proteam Aluminum Internals, Proteam Starfire Bolt
Strengths: Metal
Tournament Legal
Easily Adjustable
Quality Product
Looks Nice
Replaces a Plastic Part
Weaknesses: Springs May Pop Out
Review: The installation of the part, while it came with no instructions, was a breze. Once you get the Front Velocity set it is very easy to adjust the rear on the fly. No tools required while your in play which is a major plus. It replaces a plastic part (im not a big fan of plastic parts. There is a possibility of the spring flying off drung unscrewing but you do have some what of a warning as you can see the distance the nob is from the gun.
Conclusion: If you have a model 98 and are interested in adjusting your velocity on the fly, or are just looking to dress up your gun (it does look good), BUY IT.

Marker Setup: Tippmann 98c, 14" J&J Ceramic Barrel, 12" Smart Parts Teardrop, 7" drop forward, Dye Sticky Grips, 32* Venturi Bolt, Lapco rear velocity adjuster, 12v revy w/X-board, Polished Internals
Strengths: Looks good on the end of your gun. Works perfectly fine. Allows you to change the velocity of your gun with your fingers. Especially helpful when chronoing your gun. You don't have to keep going back to an allen key to change it until you find the right speed. You can loosen when done playing to help relive some tension on your spring while your gun is just sitting around. Will help your spring live longer.
Weaknesses: Nothing really. It's a simple upgrade. Some thing that you cant really go wrong with or could be bad towards your gun. Maybe a little expensive.
Conclusion: Great upgrade.

Marker Setup: Tippmann M98, 12V Revolution, Progressive Barrel 12 inch, Psycho Ballistic Rocket Cock, Lapco RVA, Psycho Balistic Drop Forward, Maddmann Springs, 20OZ CO2
Strengths: It's a great product, adjusts velocity easy and the spring can be taken out of the gun without taking it apart.
Weaknesses: The cap spins sometimes inside the gun when trying to adjust velocity. The spring and spring guide can shoot out if you're not careful when unscrewing the velocity adjuster. The velocity lock is annoying but it has to be there. Kinda gets in the way of the Psycho Ballistic Rocket Cock.
Conclusion: Great addition to any gun, especially ones that need a new end cap like mine did.

Pure Energy 20 oz. CO2 tank w/butt plate, Pure Energy 12 Oz. CO2 tank w/butt plate, Pure Energy 9 Oz. CO2 Tank w/butt plate

*Coming Soon: ArmoTech Mars EVO*
Strengths: -Locking screw is easy to remove and put in
-Easy to turn, but not so easy that it spins while you're running
-Doesn't get in the way
-Looks great
-Extremely durable, just like the gun, you can bang it around and it'll keep on truckin'
Weaknesses: -Gotta be careful on the field or you'll screw it too far out and there goes your spring and spring guide. Then you're real screwed.
Conclusion: Great thing, wonderfully handy to have around on the field and the chrono. Ticked off a point for the fact that the RVA isn't locked, letting you take it all the way off the back without thinking... in the middle of a game...
