Marker Setup: gray to black fade TKO Vision Impulse, 12v revy w/xboard, shocktech drop,14" Smart Parts All American barrel or 10" J&J Edge Combo, Tapeworm (a must), Crossfire 68/4500
Recommended
Upgrades:
Tapeworm
Strengths: This marker rocks, it's super fast, accurate and looks great. I have been playing paintball for about 12 years and have had alot of markers from Automags, Cockers, Tippmanns, AT85 etc to many to list, I've had the TKO Impulse for about a year and this is by far my favorite. Suprisingly as fast as this marker shoots (bps) I have never broken a paintball, I've used marballizer, JT Maxims, Team Colors & Proball and not one broken ball with either barrel system. I don't know what else I can say but I am really impressed with the way this marker works.
Weaknesses: Two things, I would say the tapeworm is a must once I installed it I had no problem with the first shot drop off. I can't see having to pay another $25 on an $850 marker to make it work but it runs on very low pressure. The second is one time at the end of the day while playing the final game my battery went dead but I can't say it was the markers fault I did shoot a lot of paint that day about a case and a half.
Conclusion: The marker is awesome and with very little upgrades its perfect

similar in feel to bushmaster/defiant, in the way it fires
Marker Setup: pmi 4500 68 ci compressed air tank, 12 volt hopper
Recommended
Upgrades:
none, this marker came upgraded from the smart part tko factory...you may want to tinker with the trigger pull...i did so, only to shorten the length of the trigger pull
Strengths: the "stock" barrel, which is actually a smart part all american barrel has great accuracy, haven't tried a freak front on it yet, though. the marker is easy on balls, including "brittle" shell balls because of the low pressure function. with the vision eye i haven't chopped any balls, only blew up a batch of "not quite round" balls. i currently run the marker at around 145 lbs inlet pressure, even though it's recommended to be between 150 - 180 lbs. the regulator that comes with the marker is excellent, and easy to maintain. overall, the marker is efficient, with the dwell shortened a bit, i'm getting over 1000 balls per tank. tko trigger is much better than the stock impulse trigger which has a lot of slop.
Weaknesses: not good for those who don't like maintenance on their markers, don't know about a lot of other markers, but this marker should be cleaned and lubed after every use
Conclusion: highly recommend it, for those who don't want to throw down over a grand for a marker...not to mention all the looks it gets

Marker Setup: Tippmann- Teardrop barrel, Palmer stab and 9v revy. Black Dragun- Teardrop barrel, CP delrin bolt and sweetspot trigger. Impulse- stock, 12v Revy,20oz C02
Recommended
Upgrades:
12v Revy or equal, maybe barrel, Delrin bolt
Strengths: The triggers smooth and light with little recoil felt when rapid firing. It's very quiet compared to most markers. Felt solid when playing, not cheap or flimsy.
Weaknesses: So far the marker is great. It's the vendor I'm having issues with, actionvillage's website said it came with an all-american but shipped it with a teardrop. When I called they said it was a typo and That they wouldn't honor the website.
Conclusion: The markers great, but maybe look to another vendor, or buyer beware!

Bob Long Intimidator, the impulses internals are easier to understand
Dark Angel lcd, the impulse shoots just as fast
Marker Setup: TKO with smart part stickies, blade trigger, custom trigger pull, Freak barrel system, 4500 114cu raptor system, 12 volt with X-Board, vortex impeller
Recommended
Upgrades:
All that is on my marker
Strengths: This marker is one of the sweetest shooting markers in the world. Smart Parts has really out done themselves. It is an extremely good looking marker as well as a performer.
Weaknesses: The trigger pull was a little sloppy, but the blade trigger took care of that. Also it is a very sensitive marker. You have to have the dwell set just right, but when it is there I can't name anything sweeter.
Conclusion: I think everyone should own this gun, well I take that back. All you angel lovers keep your guns so I can have easy competition : )
(just kidding I just say that because I get a lot of grief from angel owners)

I have used a tippmann, cocker, a few wal mart guns, and a shocker. They all don't compare to anything what the TKO impulse is.
Marker Setup: I use a TKO impulse and I have a check it clamping neck, blue I frame, dye grip, vision, freak, check it unimount and NDZ hammer assembly, also vert max flow, and voodoo bolt with titanium pin, and tapeworm.
Recommended
Upgrades:
I would get an i frame which totally helps out, cricket board, an lpr, and a freak.
Strengths: It is fast and wicked accurate for an open bolt gun.
Weaknesses: It is definetly a major gas hog but besides that is awesome.
Review: It is wicked fast, accurate, and light. It looks awesome too. I shot lots of people out with my impulse and don't think I could do it with any other gun. It is a gas hog but that is about the only problem with this gun. It also can, if you have the right thing like an i frame, outshoot any other gun.
Conclusion: I would get this gun because I think can beat any gun out there but for an awesome price.

Maybe lpr and freak
Strengths: The gun is very accurate quiet and consistent right out of the box.
Weaknesses: NO Weakness!!!!!
Review: This gun is amazing! All the other reviews are the old version of the AVI now it comes with a bunch of more stuff. First now comes with a good tapeworm better than stock impy, it is cut and carved, its colored, comes with a blade trigger, comes with an all american, vertical maxflo with gauge and a vision eye. The gun is very light i compared it to the 2003 lcd angel and it was a good amount lighter. This gun rips its great right out of the box the only thing to upgrade would be if you want to be alittle more consistent and get an lpr on the front. This gun got many looks on the field and this gun is so good i took it over a 2003 lcd angel. This gun is accurate but make sure to have anti syphoon or nitro with this gun cause if you dont the reg freezes very quickly. I shot a case of dbx and pm9i through it and no breaks. The gun is nice on air so you will not need mnay refills. Overall this gun is a beast highly rcommended over mostly any gun accept like a matrix or very high class cocker.

PS. angels are sweet but lack in accuracy and are known to chop-
Conclusion: You dont have to bother buying the strange vision its just has an lpr and the bolt is showing more cause the gun is cut more there.

Review: The Avi is not too much better than a stock impy.I bought mine used off ebay I would never pay what that much for one new. The is the low impy on the totem pole.Buy a nasty, rat, python or preadator and you'll be much happier.Performance wise it operates fine.
Conclusion: Lowest on the custom impy totem pole.Unless you buy it used you are getting ripped off.

drop forward, i have seen people who say it needs a tapeworm, but mine actually came with a tapeworm installed, but that, also, is a must. the stock 14" all american barrel is great, i just had a freak, so i put it on. also vision
Strengths: Speed, accuracy, lightweight, very flashy loking, doesnt chop on vision
Weaknesses: no blade trigger, barrel length isnt optional.
Review: great marker, shoots well, fast, nicely balanced..... its basically a stock impulse on steroids...... very nice, i like it a lot. it is a good marker for someone who wants to spend >1000 on it and still shoot very very well. although mine was $1140 total, anyone could get by much cheaper than this, i recomend this marker to anyone who likes impulses, but doesnt like the stock look. you are mainly paying for a new body, but there are TKO internals (though im not sure how much better they are) a 14" all american barrel, and a beautiful matte fade.
Conclusion: this is a great marker for people who want to spend >1000 on an impulse, there are much better impulses, but this one is best for the money. my set up was about $1140 with everything, but you could easily get by much cheaper than that.

Marker Setup: pmi 4500 68 ci compressed air tank, 12 volt hopper
Recommended
Upgrades:
Blade trigger, New hopper, New barrel
Strengths: The good about the this gun is that you dont have to buy alot of upgrades because the stock barrel has awesome accurancy. The trigger pull is very short and the hopper really doesnt have to be changed.
Weaknesses: The only thing that nis bad about this prodouct is that you must uy a new hopper and the gun's baterry is quick wasting
Conclusion: the "stock" barrel, which is actually a smart part all american barrel has great accuracy, haven't tried a freak front on it yet, though. the marker is easy on balls, including "brittle" shell balls because of the low pressure function. with the vision eye i haven't chopped any balls, only blew up a batch of "not quite round" balls. i currently run the marker at around 145 lbs inlet pressure, even though it's recommended to be between 150 - 180 lbs. the regulator that comes with the marker is excellent, and easy to maintain. overall, the marker is efficient, with the dwell shortened a bit, i'm getting over 1000 balls per tank. tko trigger is much better than the stock impulse trigger which has a lot of slop.

I have just borowed a friend angel, e-autococker
Marker Setup: tko vision impulse 68ci. 4500 psi max flo reg.
Recommended
Upgrades:
the gun already has a tapeworm which you need for a stock. you could shorten the trigger. maybe a freak front if you had some money sitting around.
Strengths: even though some might argue that the cut back leaves to much of the bolt exposed but if your even moderatly careful you won't get sand in the back. It way easier to field strip. The bolt they include in the gun I think is a delrin bolt but am not sure. It's pretty easy to clean. Pull the bolt, run a squeegee through, put dow 33 on the bolt and thats it. The frame is pretty light. The paint job they go is very good and does not scratch easily. the barrel is very accurate, It also looks good.
Weaknesses: nothing that I can think of, the one problem I had was because I was being stupid. It uses a lot of N2 compared to some guns.
Conclusion: The tko improves on a good gun in the first place. I like how this gun works. It's good. get it.
