Products Used:
ans gx-2, palmers stabalizer
Marker Setup: 2k2 Vert. Glacier-Ize freeflow cocker, 8 hole freeflow bolt, 2k3 sto ram, belsales 2 stage reg, stock sledgehammer with belsales twister cap and custom settings, stock wgp vert reg, phsyco drop with a blue macro, 48ci 3k psi nitro.
Strengths: strengths.. This stock reg is seriously fine..
Weaknesses: meh... i guess it can have SOME recharge rate probs.
Review: ok.. a lot of people use c02 with regs.. that's a BIG NO NO D@MN IT! you don't USE CO2 ON REGS! YOU USE EXPANSION CHAMBERS! get it straight, unless you're running a anti-siphon with the anti-siphon bottom line.. other wise NO! okok now that's cleared up, the reg.. You can see what the pressure is so don't freak out about messing it up. Under your front block there is a black screw which is srewed with massive amount of lock-tite.. you want to take apart that pneumatics screw, buy a 90 elbow with a 800 psi guage.. tephlon tape all that on. Now you can see what the pressure is imputted through the vert reg. The reg has smooth threads, so if you have a 90 elbow on the bottom, only put tephlong tape on it, not lock-tite, and DO NOT over tighten the bottom line or elbow onto the bottom input thread. it should be easy enough just to unscrew with your fingers with out having over pressure using a wrench. ok... no the reg performance.. if not read my other reviews, i am a spyder/cocker specialist.. so i virtually know everything about every spec of the two kind of guns.. The reg shoots perfectly fine. the lowest i can get it at is around 270'ish psi with the stock 2k2 valve which i am currently using. and that's pretty dayem good for a stock valve and stock reg. THe shooting performance...i think it shoots perfectly fine, if you have the 90 elbow with the gauge on the front block, sometimes i do see mass psi dropp'age, but that's cause of my pneumy reg. not the vert reg. The look, looks fine, nice smooth black anadize polish. uhh....I seriously don't see a lot of problems with this, and since pbreview doesn't have a sledge hammer review i'll just put it in here too.. The sledge hammer reg that comes stock on the pneumy of the cocker is INCREDIBLY AWESOME! i just make a new discovery last night when i was suction timing my cocker and fiddling around. On the sledge hammer, there is the male/male screw at the end which screws onto the front block and into the reg, then the body, then the front cap.. all these can be taken off, if you don't wana spend $50+ or so for a nice palmers or a freeflow... macdev.. what ever.. just buy the Belsales twister cap front. Take off the front cap of the sledge hammer and screw on the twister cap.. now, you take off the male/male screw from the reg, don't worry it's o-ring'ed. maybe some locktite.. but unscrew the male/male screw from the reg, and if you look inside the reg, there is a small silver philips screw, which is already pre-set wgp set it as.. what ever that is, but it is still to high.. what you want to do.. screw in the screw all the way in until it does wana screw in anymore, then unscrew the screw... 1 and 1/2 turns.. that should be enough.. screw everything back one.. now the twister rocknob cap works differently, unlike fgp, palmers and all the others, when you screw it in clockwise it increases pressure.. the twister, if you screw it counter-clockwise it increases the pressure. so screw in the rock knob all the way in until it doesn't screw in anymore.. air up your gun after everything is assembled. and first if your cocker is timed good, your cocker isn't going to be cocking properly since there isn't enough pressure through the pneumy reg to pressure the ram. so.. you want to keep pulling the trigger while slowly unscrew the rock knob on your twister. then as your cocker starts to cock properly STOP turning it.. that's when you know your cocker is officialy lp in the pneumy. adjust everything else blah blah.
Conclusion: stock vert and stock pneumy reg's are perfectly great. if... you have expierence and KNOW WHAT YOU"RE DOING!!!! comparing the stock reg with like the gx-2... well yeah it doesn't adjust externally...but in my opinion, i think it's just as good.. maybe as the years goes by keep using the stock reg, the spring is oventually going to wear out.. and.. some how you're going to repair that or just sell it and buy a new reg. Otherwise.. pretty good..now a lot of people is going to disagree with me, but... then again..i actually KNOW WHAT I"M talking about... so.. just email me if you have any questions, i would love to help you.

Strengths: Good Looks. Nickle plated. Consistent for stock.
Weaknesses: Pain in the ass to adjust.
Review: They have improved the reg over the last one. I used the old one for 3 years, and then I sold my old autococker and bought the 2k4 Prostock. the entire gun is a big improvement, but Im here to talk about the reg. Its consistent for stock. it doesent jump 10-15 +/- fps its now more like 5-7 +/- fps. which is a huge differance by itself. and its recharge rate is perfect they tripled the flow rate let me give u an idea. Im a ref and on rainy days the only thing to do is fine tune ur gun. not to mention I am the fields gun tech so I do know what Im talking about. My buddy who is also a ref at the field, has the same gun without the nexus upgrade kit, but hes does have an e-blade can shoot between 19 and 22 bps. Fortunatly with an elactro grip frame u can do this. Ok so here is what we did. equipped with a halo B he shot five shots over the chrono. they read 188 186 189 187 185. I even wrote this down so Im not making this sh*t up. then he continued to emty half his hopper as fast as he could then we shot over the chrono again and this is what it read. 183 184 186 188 187. so as you can see it does have a drop off rate of very little. then we continued to do the same with my reg just to make sure its not just his reg. the outcome was the same give or take 1-2 fps. all the tests were made with A Pmi pure energy 3000 psi preset tank. If the rg was coupled with a good air system this is a very good reg. of course the reg is a pain in the ass to adjust. because if ur going for a certain pressure then u have to constantly degas ur gun and re adjust. For those of you who are saying that sure ist got a low drop off because its running at stock pressure of 350psi. ur wrong. I dialled it to 300 psi which is the prime pressure for a cocker to work at. also dialed in at 180-190 fps the gun shoots very nicly.
Conclusion: Its a good reg. ofcorse there are more consistent out there, and there are better looking out there. But let me put it this way. this reg is better than all of the other wgp regs and keeps up with my buddys vertical max flow. his has no shot drop off but the fps jumps are similar give or take 1 fps. If u can find one not on a gun buy it. otherwise ask the persons opinion. It could be the climate, the day, or just the sheer skill i have in rebuilding regs to make them more consistent.

Almost any stock regulator.
Marker Setup: 2000 base cocker upgraded to perfection
Strengths: This regulator is suitable for people who do not play tournaments. Why, because it really doesn't matter if you win or lose because it's rec. When playing tournament you play for much more then just fun. You play for personal glory, respect, and or course the prizes. I highly recommend you up grade regs if you play tournament.
Weaknesses: This regulator does not have good even air flow. To many jumps.
Conclusion: Get a better regulator if you play tournament.

Strengths: Looks Good / it matches any gun
Weaknesses: Inconsistent / Hard to Adjust
Review: This regulator is not the best and I dislike it very much. It is very hard to set your velocity and time your autococker with this reg. You have to unscrew your bottomline everyti,e you want to adjust the reg. It is also very inconsistent and had my FPS all over the chrono. I had shots jump to 330 fps down to 240fps then to 300 then to 290.
Conclusion: This regulator s very inconsistent an pain to adjust I do not recommend it. You could get in-trouble at the chrono shooting 330fps then 240fps.

Marker Setup: '03.5 / summer edition / something like that cocker
'04 pneumatics & reg (getting ST bomb 3-way and CP reg)
maddman spring kit
ST superfly bolt
ST minidrop w/ on/off (getting a CP on/off- feels hella better)
a/s co2 (meh, i may get hpa someday, i may not, who knows?)
empire reloader w/ new revvy shells, vl200 lid
SP all-american 12" (getting 14" powerlyte scepter kit- w00t!)
Strengths: It works well (really consistent), looks ok ('04 is chrome), feels comfy...?
Weaknesses: Internally adjustable, umm... Internally adjustable, I guess.
Review: For a stock reg, this is very good (from what I hear), and it gets the job done. Works very well with co2 or nitro, consistent either way. The only problems I've had were getting the top part stuck in the vert asa (my fault, cranked on it with a strap wrench), trying to take it apart to adjust it (also my fault, using the wrong wrench), and it got scratched (I have a circa 1980 strap wrench that's made of metal, not plastic). That and it gets cold if i try to shoot too fast, but that's standard with co2, so I wear gloves and get over it.
Conclusion: If you have one, keep it unless you have the money, are annoyed by the internal adjusting, or are getting a killer deal on a new reg (I'm getting a CP reg for $25 NIB, there's a deal!).

Marker Setup: 2002 WGP AutoCocker, 9v revvy
Strengths: Comes with gun, simple, don't have to fiddle around with adjusting
Weaknesses: Recharge rate
Review: The stock reg is good for a STOCK regulator. There is still much more to be desired. Its critical weakness is recharge rate. Mind you I was using CO2 (autocockers should use compressed air or nitro.) After about 3 shots, drop off begins. For woods ball this isnt a problem, since you probably wont be spraying and praying. It is good for aimed, slow succession shots. I noticed a little spiking, but it was probably caused by the CO2 gas.
Conclusion: The stock reg is good for a beginner, but I would take the opportunity to upgrade as soon as possible. If you just want a better reg, i would recommend Palmers Pursuit Shop (either Stabilizer or the Fatty Stabilizer.) If you have a little extra money, I would reccommend upgrading to compressed air or nitro, then getting the AKA Sidewinder Regulator.

Review: This reg is very consistant and i am running my tippmann of of co2 but it still stays very consistant 299,298,298,299,299,298,298,299. and for that i love my tippmann even thogh my cocker is halla nice. but i would reccoment this reg for a low budget option with great results.
Conclusion: I would reccoment this reg for a low budget option with great results.
it is not the best reg but the price is exceptional.

Strengths: Well it comes with the gun
looks nice
not hard to clean
Weaknesses: Constitancy
shoot down
it un-screws very easy making leaks
Review: well This basicly sucks. I hate it im gettng a gladiator soon. It really sucks on the consitancy, making my autocokers grouping not as good. but i was fine with this horrid reg untill about a week ago. I was using C02(i was out of n2) and i experienced shoot down and i was shooting behind my car and over to the left a little and the shoot down balls curved and hit mr car. Now i have and autocoker so it can only go well about 10-12 bps i was shooting consistantly about 9 or 10. now that is a big problem if im getting a new trigger frame. So im getting a new regulator the macdev or something else im still looking.
Conclusion: This regulator is fine for woodsball cause u dont shoot much but speed ball u must get a new regulator and expecally if your into tournyes.

Strengths: Good cheap stock reg that does not need to be replaced immeadiately.
Weaknesses: hard to adjust, ugly, slow recharge rate.
Review: This reg is not ideal for a fast high end gun. To adjust it, you must take the hoses off ans put a 3/16 allen wrench in the hole. Its hard to do this considering your actually playing this little guess and check game. This thing also has a very ugly design. It is not worth the money to spend on other uneeded ups and not replace the reg.

This has a slow recharge rate. for a fast hight end gun, like na eblade. This reg will not keep up. It is very slow. As well as what ive listed above, you can not put a guage on it, which i do not like.

Pros: If you are just going to use your gun stock, then this reg is perfect for you. It is fast for the beginner or intermediate player and it will not breakdown on you. It has a good grip and feel to it and it is extremely well anodized. This is not top of the line, but it will do.

Conclusion: replace this as soon as you have the money. its good for stock, but for a faster gun, its not worth the time. adjusting it is too hard and the look and way it operates does not meet to satisfaction. I give it a five for trying.

Weaknesses: Bad recharge, unconsistant with high rates of fire.
Review: This reg is a very good reg for a mech cocker. But when you have a eblade or a racegun it just can keep up. It drops off a whole lot and you get very inconsistant. It is a good grip to hold but is ugly. If you have a mech cocker this reg will do. But if you get a eblade or racegun i would definately upgrade to a cp, or a sidewinder.
Conclusion: Over all its ok. But not the best
