| Strengths: |
EXTREMELY short trigger practically non-exsistant, AMAZINGLY fast, unbelieveable, and hard to chop! especially with low pressure from the trinity , looks sweet too, plus the tequila sunrise also comes with a custom bolt which makes the air problem not really a problem, weight is great, overall performance is amazing, i could not believe how totally amazing this was when i tried it, it was like a absolute dream, as soon as i have enough cash i'm picking one up as well! |
 |
| Weaknesses: |
The only bad thing i can say about this marker is I WAS NOT THE FIRST TO GET IT!!!! GRRRRR, i believe something this amazing should not be so easily accesible to the public for it is gods true gift to paintball and it would kill me to see someone who cannot absolutly apreciate the beauty of this marker have one when i do not. Oh the other bad thing about this marker its too much fun to play with, good thing its easy to turn off so you can just tap the trigger..... |
 |
| Conclusion: |
This has to be one of the best paintball products out there, i personally have never tried anything nicer, this includes the extremly elusive eclipse led angel(the best angel ever) I recommend this marker to anyone who is serious about paintball |

barrel kit if u have the cash but the Snort barrels are as good as any other .689 out there if you have the paint match... watch for Aardvark to come out with the other bore size snort barrels.. they shoot nice just a little funky lookin |
 |
 |
 |
 |
| Strengths: |
- trigger pull.. my brother and myself both have one.. his is a bit longer than mine.. mine is sick.. I've tried impies, angels etc.. the trigger on this is less than a mouse click
- the trigger.. I'm not too fast on the draw .. so the eel trigger I got with mine is perfect..
- consitancy.. if anyone says they chop.. they dont know how to operate the gun.. if the trinity is set right.. I haven't chopped yet in over 30k balls
- accuracy.. I've tried some Angels.. and I think they are almost better for speed ball because they aren't as accurate.. so when u fire 20 balls a second u get a nice even pattern.. this one.. If you keep your body consistant you could fill a pop can.
- I'm part of a family of gun owners that are less than 100 strong.. that own the tequila sunrise.. feels good to be a part of an elite crew
- trinity / bolt kit are a must for any matrix..
- grip is really nice.. I'll never change it
- packaging is nice.. with the low rise / high rise / extra mac lines / matrix muck / etc
|
 |
| Weaknesses: |
if anything is bad about this gun would be limited availability and tech support...
but to be honest with you.. if you can get it to Aardvark he will fix it.. he helped me from the get go.. and I have to say did a bang up job of helping me out coodo's to Aardie there.. but I can see it being a problem if you dont live 30 minutes away :)
weight.. I'll be honest.. you will hurt after a attack / defend scenario..
this thing is god damn heavy.. :)
only other flaw I might have and believe me this is the brain racking part to find faults in this puppy.. its maybe the barrel design.. I love the way the snort shoots.. but the multi curves and non linear shape to it is not condusive to sighting down the barrel.. I might try to put a All American on it just for that purpose. |
 |
| Conclusion: |
I feel priveleged to own this beast. If you are looking for an angel / Tricked out Cocker / shocker / any big name electros and you have a chance to join the Tequila family .. dont pass it up.. this is a gun I am sure I'll hang on my wall when I'm 90 and someone is changing my diapers. |

| Strengths: |
This gun is insanly fast, my angel hardly gets this much paint out of it without breaking. This gun will break a ball or 2 but not enough to make it a problem. It looks sweet and with Trauma, the SC Ironmen, and GZ soon to be shooting it u know its good. This is the first matrix that i have been able to get 9 pods through before thinking about air... its not an excalibur, but its not one of the old matrices that only got a hopper and a couple pods. Accuracy is good, but with the high bps it could shoot awful and still hit sum1 |
 |
| Weaknesses: |
I had a wire in the board screw up because of poor sodering from the factory, i heard this was a big problem on the older matrix, but it was easily fixed in a few minutes and i havent had any problems since then. Also, accuracy will be improved by a new barrel which is a given, ive been using a Freak and a Dye UltraLite and they both shoot extremly well. If you dont have a large budget but somehow end up with the gun the stock barrel isnt bad, there is just better out there |
 |
| Conclusion: |
Buy it, screw the WDPs Angel, screw the Shocker, Bushmaster, impulse, excalibur, screw the timmy, screw everyother nice electro gun out there, they dont compare, trust me, ive owned a few |

Nothing much compares to a tequila. As far as matrices go, these paved the way for custom matrices. |
 |
| Marker Setup: |
I have a 2k2 led trix pimped,
a 2k3 Dye trix, and
a Tequila Sunrise, blue to pewter'ish fade, sidewinder reg, AK volumizers, aka scm lpr |
 |
Recommended Upgrades: |
ummmm.... ummmmmm..... ok maybe a sidewinder hpr and a dye ul barrel |
 |
 |
 |
 |
| Strengths: |
Faster, amazing looking, little-to-no chops, it's a MATRIX |
 |
| Weaknesses: |
Good luck finding one, tech support, lexan windows get dirty over time |
 |
| Review: |
I'll start with the obvious: looks
Imagine owning a matrix (sweeeeeeeeet), now imagine owning a matrix with a funky aarkvark smoking a cigarette engraved into the side and 2 holes cut out of the top of the body replaced with a lexan window (SCHWEEEEEEEEEEET). Ok, people look at this marker and drool. That's not an overstatement. I've had mine out a few times and people love to look at it. Then they want to shoot it, and take it apart, and look at it some more. If you get a sunrise you get a tequila matrix with a fade anno job. If you get a tequila, it's just one color. Either way you go, they look amazing.
Ok next up, function:
This is a matrix that been milled and modified externally to be appealing to the eye. They could have stopped there. But they didn't. Aardvark put in their popular bolt kit, a new manifold (yes THIS DOES MAKE A DIFFERENCE) a new board and trigger and other goodies. The board is fast, the trigger is super light and short. When they first made these, they were way ahead of their time. Like all matrices, if you keep your lpr in tune, you will maybe chop a ball out of ever case but most likely you will pinch.
Anything else good about this marker?:
well, in 20 years, these things will be worth a pretty penny. there are random facts circulating about the #'s Aardvark put out.. but it was around 15 tequila matrices and 75 tequila sunrise matrices. They are available once again from Aardvark but still, a very rare marker.
The bad??????????????????????????
Well if you happen to find a nice one available, expect a price tag of well over $1k
Tech support, unless you live in Canadia, is virtually not existent. there are plenty of threads over at www.aardvarkdirect.com with help information though. Also, products from Aardvark are hard to come by in general.
The lexan windows are a great touch, but over time with lube and dirt, they can get a bit nasty. Good news is replacements are now available :) |
 |
| Conclusion: |
This is the only marker I would give a 12 if I could. It's top of the line and a must own for any serious matrix fan. |

Recommended Upgrades: |
Upgrade the barrel, Aardvaark's snort barrel is extremely heavy and not very accurate. |
 |
 |
 |
 |
| Strengths: |
Fast and VERY accurate due to lack of recoil. Quiet. |
 |
| Weaknesses: |
The gun is rather heavy and the grip could be more comfortable, ala IR3. |
 |
| Review: |
I have owned or used or tested almost every tournament caliber marker available and I strongly believe that a high end Matrix is simply the best gun available. They are extremely accurate; better than an autococker due to the lack of recoil, much better than an intimidator (due to the timmy's open bolt system), and significantly better than any angel (open bolt as well).
There a markers which may be faster but none are as accurate. The Tequila Sunrise is also very quiet and rarely chops paint - just make sure to use good paint and have the right barrel match.
The only significant drawback is the grip design. Having owned a Dark IR3, I know how comfortable a grip can feel. The IR3's strength was ease of handling - moving from right to left hand shooting and vice versa, and speed. Check out fury sports in the UK for an IR3 grip for your Matrix. With the IR3 style grip on a high end Matrix, I think the best gun in terms of comfort, speed, accuracy, and reliability is available. |
 |
| Conclusion: |
I have heard that Aardvaark is no longer manufacturing their Matrix. Great gun in every way except the grip. |
