This is a great barrel. It is very accurate and has treated me very well. The barrel set will match any type of paint just like the freak. When compared to the freak, the accuracy is exactly the same. The equation barrel is a little louder but it has better efficiency due to less porting. I was amazed by how well this barrel really worked. I have used lots of different types of barrels, and for the price, this is one of the best available. the inserts are teflon coated and the interior of the barrel is very smooth.
Weaknesses:
the time to get this thing. It took me about a month and a half to get it after I ordered it. I was sent one piece that was annoed the wrong color, but kept it because I didn't want to deal with the wait. the service is not good.
Conclusion:
it took forever to get the barrel, but once I received it, the wait was well worth it. This is a great barrel, I got rid of my all-american and dye ultralight when I got this because this performed better. I will grade the barrel 10 because it is great, I won't include the wait time because I am not grading the company.
Easy to change the length, I like the real short 6 1/2 inch with just the muzzle and back. Its a little hard to aim but really lets you play both sides of a bunker. With the extension I have its about 13". Its nice to be able to switch. The inserts are stainless steel. Compared to freak inserts they are appear to be a bit tougher + the rubber 0-ring holds them in place pretty tightly. It shoots reasonably well. About the same as my snort or CP barrel no noticable difference.
Weaknesses:
Where to begin.............
Customer service at equation really lacks. I ordered the barrel through a vendor and after a month I had heard nothing. The vendor was not getting much out of equation so I talked to them directly. I gave them the details and they said they would look into it. A month later I was still nothing....again they said they would look into it. After a couple more weeks I talked to them again and they figured out that they had lost my order from the get go........not a good thing to tell me after I have been talking to them for 2.5 months. They said at this point that they had my barrel and it was shipping within a day. Two weeks later ...still nothing. I talk to them and they are saying it was just shipped. After about 3 months and three weeks i received the barrel. They gave me the wrong color base and the wrong extension length. My 0.689 insert has some tool marks on the inside. They are minor and do not seem to effect performance.
Conclusion:
It is not a bad barrel performance wise. Not worth the wait or hassel to get one. Equation was basically dishonest with me. They have some good concepts but I would not recomment dealing with them. Purely on performance i would rate this barrel at about 8.5. The low rating below is based partly on service
Any balls are great, cause you can adjust the bore sizes to fit any ball you want
Strengths:
Ive been using this product for awhile now and i just love it, shoots like a dream, hasnt failed me yet. I like the fact that at any time you can change a piece of the barrel to a different color or style and not have to buy a whole new system that cost $$$$. The Inside of the barrel is just awesome, a great finish.
Weaknesses:
I can't say there is anything bad about this product.
Conclusion:
Highly recommended to any one, doesn't matter if you play speedball or woods this is the system for you. I didn't have any problems with shipping. and the people over there are really great and friendly.
