If you have the slotted style hammer cap, you'll notice its hollow. Replace it and you will see a performance gain. For newer Impulse owners its about customization. Great custom looks and performance. Click on pic or here to see it larger. Top left is Biohazard, Nuclear, Cracked, Dragon, - 2nd row left Target, Web and Chrome. All colors also available with out any engraving. Actual tests show that the solid hammer caps increase your velocity as well as cycling the marker faster, and its noticeable.. HPA users can see a 14-25fps increase while co2 users normally see about 3-7fps. The stock series shown as have a 1/8 allen fitting.
Product Availability
The New Designz Hammer Caps are older, so while they may be available used and in a few cases new, they are not commonly available anymore.

NOTE: this site has the New Designz Brass and SS hammers pictured instead of the cap. go to http://www.newdesignz.com/Pics/Imp_hamcap.jpg to see pic of the hammer assembly caps
Marker Setup: smart parts vision impulse with 68ci 4500psi max flow, I-Frame, ND internals....
Strengths: adds style, reduces air used if you had a hollow cap
Weaknesses: none
Review: its mostly for style, but a must if you had one of the older impulse with the hollow ones. they come in a bunch of colors, and have kool laser engraving. It will help your air efficiency if you had the hollow one. and it is installed/removed using an allen wrench, which wont get scratched up like the older hallow version that was installed/removed with a screw driver
Conclusion: get this if you have the hollow hammer cap. or if you wanna add some character to your gun.

Strengths: Looks really cool, customizes your impulse.
Weaknesses: Doesn't improve performance except for older impulses.
Review: First off, want to clarify. This will not improve your gun's performance unless you have an older style impulse with a slotted hammer cap. If your hammer cap uses a hex key, then you will only gain looks from this. However, the looks are very nice. I personally have a black one with a white dragon on it. Haven't seen anyone else at the field with one yet and it makes my gun stick out.
Conclusion: I would wait and buy performance upgrades first, but if you have a few bucks to blow, go for it. Makes your gun look awesome, and will definitely separate you from everyone else on the field.

Marker Setup: Superman Impulse that I scored from Shaq with a jewel in the back
Strengths: Well, first of all, I dont think that picture they have up is right. Thats a picture of two hammers. Not hammer caps (I think). I have a blue "Target" Hammer cap and its cool looking. Umm...Nice...anodizing...I dunno how much it improves performance but Wolverine says it does and Wolvies the man!
Weaknesses: Im speechless
Conclusion: This product alone makes your Impulse a shooting machine. Not really...But still cool looking. A cosmetic upgrade. Cool though.

Marker Setup: Impy with eclipse blade, 14" freak, ss back, kapp low rise, chrome eclipse volumizer, ND hammer cap, and maxflo.
Strengths: This helped my imp quite a bit, I noticed that there was no bolt stick after installed, and it seemed to keep up a little better when shooting fast. Looks better, faster to remove so you can clean in between each game. Also the hammer area doesnt seem to build greese up as quick.
Weaknesses: Nothing, cheep, has use, and looks cool. Only thing is that it is hard to find. Good sight with good people on the phones.
Conclusion: If your ordering any product where they sell these, pick it up, you're impy will look better and perform better. Always a plus. If nothing else its something to spend money on, another of the few upgrades for the impy.
