I got this cocking rod to replace the stock one because it was nonadjustable due to the amount of locktite they used. This was on sale for $7.99 so I thought I'd give it a try. This thing works but the bumper is kind of big so it has to be screwed out further on the shaft, which means the set screw has to go deeper. The good thing is it has an allen key near the tip so you don't need to use an extra allen wrench to adjust your velocity, all you need to do is unscrew the cocking rod and then pull it out a little until you have the allen key lined up and turn it whichever way it needs to go and then screw the cocking rod back into place. |

It's a good cocking rod that's also very cheap and easy to adjust. It also functions as a allen wrench to adjust the velocity. |

This cocking rod feels very rough when screwing into the hammer on my 03 sniper. It seems that the threads are not precise enough, to get that buttery smooth feeling of a expertly made peice. I was look to simplify the process of adjusting velocity, by using the rod and then locking it down back at the truck, but screwing in the rod, I feel resistence and a gritty feeling. My stock rod has no such feeling, just smooth. I will be looking into a Shocktech rod, this time taking my hammer to the store to get "the feeling", to make sure there isn't a similar problem.
(it could be the fact that it's a 2003 model, but I doubt it, because I returned the rod, tried a different one, the same problem existed, but a restocking fee and the fact it was only $10, made me keep it) |

If you're looking for a quick fix, go ahead, other wise try out the KO cocking rod or a KAPP or Shocktech rod that can be locked down with the same wrench that you adjust with. |

I like this product because there is no need for an allen wrench. However when i went to time my cocking rod i called system x and they said that they use lock tight on their knobs so i tightened the rod and accidentally cross threaded the nob and rod. |

Buy it if its for a quick fix but look into a kapp cocking rod if you really looking for a last cocking rod. |
