This mod again involves the hammer and bolt carrier. This one deals with how the carrier and hammer latch together. First, let me show you what I mean. Look at the picture below. Notice how the hammer latch strikes the bolt carrier; it strikes right on the corner. May users of Rain Makers have noticed what has been called "The second pop."
When the hammer latch strikes the carrier like this, it pushes the valve open a little bit; the second pop. I first noticed this undocumented feature when I was firing my gun without the bolt cover on. The bolt flew across the room.
I change these two contacting surfaces to prevent the second pop and promote easier latching. |
