Products Used:
spyder1 bottumline, tippman, JT,
Marker Setup: Stock impulse body with every upgrade you can think of except for millings... and now with the W.A.S equalizer
Recommended
Upgrades:
new marker
Strengths: Great starter marker
Weaknesses: Chops, low rate of fire, unconsistant, for short range combat.
Review: i remember shooting this marker back in the days when i just started playing pball. we went out to play a game of rec ball and this kid was using the spyder. I ask him if i can use it for one game and he let me. i used it for one game and only one game. it was so hard to adjust with it because i was so use to ROF, not shaking the hopper, and range. the spyder seems to have a VERY fast burst of engery then it dies out quick and so you dont get much range with it. ROF was like 5 bps compare to my impy @ around 20±bps. Anyways i just wanted to share this experiance with this marker beacuse this is where it allll started with me and my team. well hopefully this will help. maybe not but still its something to think about sometimes. if your a starrted this marker is good, but if u plan on playing, rent a marker play with it if u like it then go for something that will be worth your money and if your gonna try to go big time save up and get a good marker. well this is it for this review.
Conclusion: Get a higher end marker if u luv pball, this marker is a good starter marker.

I've used the spyder imagine- better because electric
Brass eagle Avenger- pretty dependable
talon ghots- HA
Marker Setup: Kingman spyder Elite
sub-zero expansion chamber
ACS bolt
dye teardrop 14" barrel
Recommended
Upgrades:
New barrel
Expansion chamber (co2)
Strengths: Very fast shooting
quiet
little CO2 consumption
Weaknesses: Single trigger
Review: This Gun is great. It is very reliable if you know how to use it and maintain it. I usually borrow it out to people, and they all dont know how to use it the right way. It can shoot very fast for a single trigger and is also very quiet.
Ther only weakness is its single trigger, and like some other spyders if a ball breaks the shell might become trapped between the bolt and the gun wall. That is quite easily fixed though. The venturi bolt get scratched easily.
Conclusion: I would recomend this gun to a beginner or intermediate player. It is a reliable gun and has helped me out of some tight spots. Great gun.

I will compare stock vs. stock guns
Tippman 98 custom.....more accurate, better range, much louder
JT Excelerator 3.5 e.....more accurate, way faster, quieter
Marker Setup: JT Excelerator 3.5e
14" barrel, drop forward, low pressure chamber, e hopper. (everything except the hopper was used on my spyder)
Recommended
Upgrades:
barrel, drop forward
Strengths: It's a Spyder therefore very upgradeable.
Weaknesses: Stock barrel is loud and inaccurate.
Review: This is a great beginners gun, not that I am an expert. I had several instances of ball chopping with cheaper paints but when I switched to Menace paint I had no issues with chopping. The best part is that all the upgrades you do can be transfered to any Spyder or Spyder type gun.
Conclusion: If you are just starting out I would reccomend getting this gun if you could find it for less than 50$. Remember that you will need to upgrade after you purchase the gun to get its full potential.

Strengths: cheap, maintenance

Weaknesses: not reliable, breaks paint
Review: this is a good marker for newbies. it is pretty easy to take apart and clean. one of the problems with this marker is the cocking screw keeps coming loose and you might loose it, but don't put thread sealers on it because you need to take it off to take the marker apart. it isn't good on staying consistent, you might shoot a 300fps and then 280, 260 and back to 300.
Conclusion: overall it is a pretty cheap marker to get into. you can just about put any kind of upgrade on it you want. not bad for woods play.

Strengths: accurate, great for newbies and the elders of the game
Weaknesses: needs a new barrel and i switched the spyder compacts trigger frame with the elites
Review: this gun is great, it is fairly accurate, a bit expensive but i got mine at a pawn shop for a steal. the gun is a great gun for people trying to get into the sport of paintball or people who have been playing and need a new edge to their game then this is the gun for you.
its a great gun without spend the couple hundred dollars(or even thousands you autococker people out there).
Conclusion: its a great gun for the money and a great manufacturer to boot

The Spyder 2000 Compact. The elite is more accurate, but the compact is faster.
Marker Setup: I use the Spyder Elite. It is awesome and is a good gun for beginners. I bought a new barrel (which is a must) because some of the balls would be chopped and for better accuracy.
Recommended
Upgrades:
You definitely need to get a new barrel. Everything else is good and works fine.
Strengths: It is very accurate and powerful. Nice starter gun and is fast.
Weaknesses: Bad stock barrel. Thats it!!!
Review: I enjoy playing with this gun. It works perfectly and is a good gun for playing in the woods behind your house or playing in the arena. The Elite is powerful, accurate and fast. This gun is very fun and entertaining. You have to get a new barrel because the stock barrel is crap.
Conclusion: The Elite is a very good gun. A beginner will love this gun. It is perfect except that the barrel is bad. Once you get a new barrel you should be fine.

This gun is alos great in the winter time.
Conclusion: Nice gun for the weekend paintballer. Kinda old dont see very much of them if you do ge one and see if you like it

Brass Eagle Avenger- doesnt even compare with the elite
Marker Setup: -Standard spyder elite
-16 oz. Co2 tank
-12" Custom barrel
-200 ct. hopper
Recommended
Upgrades:
When you buy most guns always get a new barrel- is a must with this gun
Strengths: great accuracy with a 12in. barrel and never cuts balls.
Weaknesses: none so far
Review: I play woods ball every saturday, and ive used this gun about six or seven weekends. As of now I haven't had a problem with this gun. I did replace the barrel which is pretty much a necessity with this gun. After about 5000 shots only one ball has been chopped and that was because I was going trigger happy. I use Diablo Dusk balls and thats what I would recomend with most Spyders. Since they have stopped producing this gun Iwould definately think about finding one. I traded a brass eagle avenger with $20 to boot to get mine. A great trade on my part.
Conclusion: If you find one for less than $140 buy it because you will not be sorry.

Marker Setup: Smart Parts Impulse with a New designz Blade trigger, Gas through foregrip, and Delrin Bolt
Recommended
Upgrades:
A new barrel is a must, expansion chamber, and an E frame
Strengths: It is a great Marker for begginers. It is strong, durable, and will last.
Weaknesses: The accuracy is not to great With the stock barrel.
Review: The Spyder Elite is a great first marker. It will not break if you take descent care of it. You can put a great deal of upgrades on this gun. You might need a new barrel if you are looking for better accuracy. It has a very simple design. The Marker is very affordable. With some smart upgrades this gun can hold up with some highend markers.
Conclusion: I think you should seriously considering this gun if you are thinking about getting your first marker. It is strong and durable and it should last. It is also very upgradable. The reason I gave it a 9 is because of the barrel you should upgrade if you have the money.

you need a new barrel or this gun is not so great at aim or consistincy
Strengths: its a really good gun for a starter and if you up grade it, it is just as good as a any mag or impulse
Weaknesses: this gun has some not so good parts u need a new barrel or else it is not very good at accuracy and u will probally want to get a new trigger because a single just doesnt cut it
Conclusion: this is a overall good gun but the barrel sucks and thats about all thats wrong with it. i have the elite and im the best player at my school and some of the kids are pros so this gun is a nice starter if you want to be good at what you. thats all i got to say
