The NEW PMI Piranha STS G2 (Generation 2) Paintball Gun takes the place of the original STS. The NEW PMI Piranha STS G2 comes with the features found on the original PMI Piranha STS including: .45 gripframe, powerfeed, Teflon impregnated nickel internals (to reduce friction), unique field strip pin (no tools required), rear cocking bolt, lightened trigger, gas thru foregrip, bottom line, custom PMI Perfect 11" Pursuit barrel, raised sight rail with tournament beavertail, PMI Perfect Turbo Valve, low pressure chamber, and a true venturi bolt. Standard thread on all hoses and screws. New features include: 2 Finger Trigger and Frame, and Ram Air low pressure chamber. This new low pressure chamber has an internal spring which forces the CO2 out of the chamber allowing the paintball gun to operate at a lower pressure. PMI one year warranty!
Product Availability
The PMI Piranha STS G2 is older, so while it may be available used and in a few cases new, it is not commonly available anymore.

crossfire 48 cu 3000 psi

Upgrades:
Decent barrel. Doesn't have to be 200$. Just a decent barrel. Co2 will probably be just fine.
Strengths: Accurate
Has potential
relaible (never broke)
works like it says it will
Weaknesses: Slow
Sight is useless
nothing else huge
Review: Okay first of all all you really need to service this gun is basically some grease and some o' rings. Also don't forget to throw in some allen wrenches. If you hear a leak you can basically slap an o' ring on and it will stop. It is definately a very good beginner gun. This gun has always worked. It has never broke mid game and screwed me over. This gun is a very good backup gun for woodsball. it sat in my garage for two years and we took it out and put some o' rings on and it worked perfectly. A very tough gun.
Conclusion: I would recommend this product. If you see one on eBay go ahead and get it. I'm sure you could get one for cheap now. make sure to get o' rings you'll need em' :)

Weaknesses: a little unacurate

Review: this is a great gun and a good price. very little problems. looks awesome. its a good idea to get a new barrel. the trigger pull is decent but i reconmend a faster trigger frame like the eforce trigger frame for $80. It takes a 9 volt battery but does not have different firing modes, but it pull is extremely short. The sts g2 is a great gun for the novice and experienced player.
Conclusion: just get a new barrel. thats all you need. a new trigger frame could help but is not needed. you can have some fun with this gun. its very easy to upgrade.

Strengths: Reliable!

Weaknesses: Didnt buy it new to experience the stock barrel?
Review: Didnt use this marker for over 3years, picked it up and played a full days worth of speedball. The bolt locked back once, but easily fixed with a quick tug. I also didnt replace any o-rings or oil it before hand. Didnt chop any balls - even with gravity hopper. Of course I do have a lot of experience with 'cockers, so my trigger pulls are very consistant. I would say the above puts it up there with the reliability of my old prolite. Performed better with no maintenance after 3yrs than my 'cocker after 1 round of play!

I still have yet to experience these o-ring issues. If you remove the tank like you would a 'cocker - you wont be replacing many of those o-rings either. Thats not to say that i'm not going to oil it or replace them - but so far only for regular maintenance. Cant say that about my old 'cocker.

Fires more quietly (with the lapco bigshot) than my cocker with J&J 16" spiral vented barrel - with no loss of accuracy either.

I was going to upgrade to a 12v hopper, but after a few games I found there was no need.

I chose this marker originally b/c of its reliability, it has yet to prove me wrong. I also bought it used (semi-abused) - bought a new barrel (cost more than the marker, heh) and is dead on accurate - every game!

Took a number of shots in the side and I didnt bother to clean it, and it still performed as if it hadnt.

Highly accurate if you are not trying to spray paint the field and walk the trigger - which feels very clean and not cheap like you would expect.

Conclusion: If you find one cheap (which they are at the time of this review) - buy one, or two. =) I'm sure they have their flaws, but compared to the maintenance of higher end markers - you will laugh at anything with batteries.

I see reviews about how someone went up against a bunch of electro's and other junk, but if you can depend on your marker to shoot straight with every shot - you would be suprised how many one shots you can get if you take a sec and point it at someone before you pull the trigger instead of blindly painting whatever it is they are hiding behind. Cover fire is great and all, but you can keep a head down even firing 1bps. Tactics and a well fired paintball > 30bps.

My priahna > my 2k Auto-chopper =P

You could say I traded 'down,' but the looks on the guys faces with the $2,000 autos walking off the field with face full of paint is priceless. Yes, you will piss people off by pwning them with this marker. And pro's are not pro's becuase they spent the most money on their markers and can spray the most paint (play with them consistantly and you will know why). When I walk onto the field, I worry about the guy whose not wearing a jearsey and whos sporting a well semi-modified 'cheap-o' mechanical marker (spiders dont count, hehe) whos not talking #### before every round. Chances are he will be last to walk off the field. =)

So buy this friggin marker - you will be a better player for it, 'pros' included! It will cost less than a day at the field!

I give it a 9 - it still has a blow-back design (I really don't like bolts moving so close to my mask - even with a beaver tail) and requires a decent barrel.

The G2 is my first and only gun so i have only used other guns (my friends markers) for fun before and after games.

-Tippmann 98 Custom, It seems reliable, i have never seen it break down so i assume its pretty good.
I haven't used any other guns but my friends spyder seems O.K.

Overall I'd say my gun kicks @$$ compared to those two.
Marker Setup: -Piranha STS G2
Barrels- Stock, Armson Stealth 13.5", J&J ceramic 14"
Co2 tanks- Two 20 oz. tanks, one w/ on-off valve, one w/o on-off valve
Loader- Qloader, if you've got no idea what this is go to www.qloader.com, anyways this thing feeds at like 40-50 bps!
-Other Goodies
32 Degrees expansion chamber
Drop forward
Hogue Grips

Bags and What-not
-32 degrees equipment bag
-Gun/barrel bag
-4 100rd. loaders
-2 2-tube harnesses
-Bendy squigee (can't spell that)

Recommended
Upgrades:
J&J ceramic barrel- this gun is is accurate as it is, with the J&J it's deadly (cheap barrel too)
Drop Forward and Expansion Chamber
Qloader or some other motorized hopper
Strengths: -Accurate (sniper)
-Mad quiet with the J&J ceramic (sniper)
-Very reliable, never breaks down
Weaknesses: Chops without motorized hopper, but all guns will do that

Review: Wow, what can i say other than go buy it. Definatly worth the money and it definatly beats the 98 custom. It is very easy to field strip (I've done it before) very accurate, and very quiet. Everyone that I play with comments through the maskfull of paint i gave them "wow, that thing is mad accurate!" lol this gun rules!

***I have heard rumors about this gun going fully-auto if you hold the sear release in the forward position while holding the trigger down. I haven't tested this yet but it's worth a try!***

Conclusion: I've said it all in the review

Normally i don't anything a 10 because nothing is perfect, but i can't help myself...
It gets a 10 out of 10

Nothing, get rid of it.
Strengths: great aim, very maneuverable, loud intimidating sound
Weaknesses: o-ring eater, eats o-rings sometimes doesn't respond to trigger, leaks gas
Review: This marker sucks, i have tried to play with it many a times and it always screws me over except twice. the 2 times it worked it kicked butt. i took out a 5 man team all be myself with this gun once and a 4 man team single handedly inside a bunker with this marker. But that was the only timed it worked. all the other times i had to sit at camp and try to fix some problem with this gun for hours. it leaks gas, does not respond to trigger sometimes, and the detent breaks quickly. And don't say it is because i don't oil it. I have oiled it every time before and after every game. every game, not game day. This marker is bad overall. It does not deserve the 3 i am giving it, but i will cause when it does work it kicks butt.
Conclusion: Do not waste your money. spend your money on a solid gun like the Tippeman custom '98 for $50 less. this gun has zero problems that i have known of. and i know several people who have this gun.

Spyder TL plus and other Clones, they don't kepp up with the STS, they are heavey ugly, and look like wanna-be's

12 volt java revy with X boad
68ci 4500 PSI pure energy tank

and my STS G2 with System X ,
X-10 drop forward
same tank
same revy
Phsyco ballistics Aradus barrel 14 in.
and new hoses
Recommended
Upgrades:
A new barrel, the stock one is okay but a new barrel like the Aradus I have on mine makes a big differance, also with the aradus it doesn't matter what bore size paintball you have because it can switch to all

I'd also reccamend nitro it give the gun a more stable feel and will give a more accurate range ans stable range of fps

A drop forward is nice espaically if you have a big tank, it gives the gun a better center of gravity makes it for balanced and compact...it gives opponents less things to hit too

A new bolt would be good...NAKE SURE YOU OIL THIS GUN, wear on the internals will be costly to your game/gun!

A new trigger would be good, a new frame while you're at it, give it a shorter trigger pull and watch it fly..
Strengths: Cheap, GREAT RELIABLE GUN It's not an O-ring eater like everyone says
Weaknesses: the barrel...it's stubby...and ugly.....The gun breaks cheap paint
Review: WoW...this gun works right out of the bpx...add some air you loser don't take it out of the bpx and try to go shoot the squirrels in your back yard...dumb@$$

THe gun is good, the company is good, buy it. It's a good begainer gun and if you upgrade it it can keep up with anything, you might want to look to 2K3 though...

oh.....where to begain...there's all this hype about auto cockers and believe me....they're alot more complicated and break easier...this gun is more realiable then them by far and is only a tad bit worse...but there's 200$ inbetween...
the gun is durable plain and simple I can shoot mine underwater and if the ball quality is good...there it goes, I've only had one problem with this gun and that was it not recocking....I took it to the shop and all they did was replace the front O-ring and it worked fine, the trigger pull is nice...you might want a new shorter one though..
GREAT RELIABLE GUN! It's not an O-ring eater like everyone says...they don't take care of it.

The gun breaks paint that sucks, like brass eagle...why you would be buying brasseagle paint and other sucky paint...I have no idea.......do you shop at walmart?....walmart is NOT a paintball store
Conclusion: Nice gun, 10 out of ten, come on just look at it it's calling your name! STS Super Target System, let them eat paint!

NITRO NITRO NITRO
Weaknesses: upgradability
aint a cocker or imp, but it gets the job done,
Review: my cocker was down, so i grabbed my dads STS and put my nitro and normal hopper on it and went to play with my friends at our local team practice at a little small shop field(we played on the sup air) and i was against an angel speed, an orracle autococker, and an eblade dye autococker, and the ppl on my team had just somewhat stock cockers (2k3's) and we held our own and won a couple times, i was gob-smacked how well this thing ran, but it was 50 percent the nitrogens doing, i recommend just a screw in nitro tank to anyone who plays paintball
Conclusion: ill give it a nine, its no timmy or angel, but for the price and such, ill give it a nine, i am absolutely done mashing piranhas as i used to (i am a cocker owner in case u havent read my gun) i recommend this gun to anyone as their first gun, and i do mean ANYONE, this is a great gun

Review: Great gun, uses very little air (about 1,500 shots with a 15oz), cheap, I haven't chopped a ball yet. My friends like it. Great for back-yard play and more. The only problem is with the bolt, you may pinch the front o-ring but that isnt a big problem, just oil it more and it wont happen as often
Conclusion: Wow, this gun is great, and I love it. Performs great
