The Long Awaited second collaboration between Vans and Warped Sportz is about to to rock the paintball world.

The Dark FT is a low top shoe, with a focus on three areas;
comfort, function and aesthetics
Comfort

The Dark FT features an Air Cushioned Heel Shock Absorber. This small, inflated plastic pocket is designed to significantly reduce jarring to the heel bone and lower tension stress that may be placed on your Achilles tendon.

The shoe also features a combination synthetic Nubuck and mesh upper. Nubuck behaves similar to leather, but is lighter and more water resistant, which will help keep you warm and dry. The mesh portions give your feet well-needed breath-ability. Finally, Dark FT has a removable EVA sock liner with a ¾ of an inch heel and arch liner.

The tongue is flexible and thin, at barely a half inch wide, increasing roominess and comfort.

Function

Besides, comfort, the Dark FT puts high premium on function as well. The shoe features twenty-four ½" by ½" inch directional lugs around the perimeter (nearly TWICE as many as on the Vans Avalanche Series Shoe.) On top of that, the shoe has 16 tandem set lugs throughout the middle of the sole, plus four directional lugs located in the arch of the sole. There are also 23 mini-lugs located on the point of the toe.

The Dark FT is light and tight, and tips the scales at barely nine ounces. It is also equip with a reinforced, molded rubber-toecap.

Don't Vans special speed lacing system, for better durability and quickness lacing.

Aesthetics

Who wants a great shoe if it's ugly, right? The Dark FT might just be THE best looking shoe on the market. The shoe is adorned the with signature Vans checkered board pattern, in a homage the decades of coolness that Vans has represented in the world of Southern California cool. The checkerboard pattern is contracted in black and charcoal, and tempered with fine cut pieces of black and gray nubuck to created a cool but subdued vibe. The Dark FT is a perfect accessory; it can work in aesthetically with any jersey or pant on the market.

Finally, the Dark logo has been embroidered into the heel, an inch and a half above the embossed Vans logo. This gives the shoe that final touch, that ever- so- slight hint of darkness that Warped Sportz brings. You know, the vibe about dozen paintball companies have tried to copy over last few years. (Biters, you know who you are.)

Product Availability
The Warped Sportz Dark FT Shoe is older, so while it may be available used and in a few cases new, it is not commonly available anymore.

Review: I picked my van's up at our local paintball shop. My captain, fellow frontman, and mid guy all reccomended that I pick a pair up.

Well I put them on and it was PURE heaven, they are so very comfortable. The only problem I have had with them is that the break in time takes quite a while.

But the looks and great traction they provide outweigh what little discomfort the break in can take.
Conclusion: Get out and buy a pair! The comfort and traction are FABLOUS! If you are of tired of marking up your old sneakers, these babies are IT!

Review: We got a pair in with a order from WSD as a store demo. As if I was about to pass up trying out these bad boys! My first impression was that the pattern on the fabric (checkerboard) was rather....lame. But over time it grew on me. When I first slipped my feet in I found that they were surprisingly comfortable, but they were stiff. Well we have a quick fix for that...after an hour and a half of pounding and stomping and flexing my feet the were getting to the near to almost broken in stage. I decided to do a quick jog to see how they felt and the grip. A brisk two mile jog off the beat path proved that these shoes were built for some serious grip. I also was very pleased at how comfortable they were. However they were not water proof as I found when I took a step into a rather deep puddle. I was concerned at how they were cut, it was a hair on the low side and it offered some ankle support but not as much as I would like. After drying them out with a blow-dryer and slipping on a pair of ankle supports I was ready to test them out on the field. I was VERY pleased at how they gripped off the break. They offered an excellent grip for the launch off the break and improved my speed on getting to where I needed to be. The comfort level is amazing in these shoes. Thru out the day I was amazed at how comfortable they really were. In fact at the end of the day I wore them out, they worked well for non-paintball use and I received a few comments on how "Snazzy" my shoes were.
Conclusion: Quite possibly the best paintball shoe out there. Very comfortable, great grip, a stylish pattern, and a very durable material.

I would have liked to see these offered in a higher cut (hi-top) and at least a water resistant material/coating used.

But the Pros out weigh the Cons....another great item from Warped Sports (and Vans) get them! Your feet will thank you.....

Sadly a 10/10 is not in order for these....they are great but have a few problems.

Review: I seriously Love these guys, I'm wearing them everywhere. Compared to my street Vans these have better traction times 10. All my local feilds are indoor and the astro turff gets slippery. Since getting these I haven't slid by accident once. Their sort of a cross between hiking boots and sneakers, more sneakers though. They are mid cut so they lack upper support, but in my experince that hasnt been a problem. They also have a thick sole which makes them a little on the heavy side if they were to be sneakers, but for what they are its more than expected. It took me about a week of hard wearing to make them feel comfy comfy, but now their like a second layer of skin, just like all my other vans.
Conclusion: Compared to the DYE ATCs price wise these are tottally worth it. Best of the worlds of sneakers and boots, perfect for paintball. Perfect
