Let's see... where to begin? I have only fooled around with one for about an hour, so I can't properly explain all of the inner workings of the gun. It does, however, have ALMOST NOTHING TO DO WITH PAINTBALL, aside from the fact that it uses CO2 cylinders(it is a gas hog, BTW. I only got off 15 shots with a 12 oz!) It shoots these big foam rocket things that don't seem very dangerous but really are. It doesn't have absolutely amazing range because it's light, but it really does shoot at 120 m/ph(took me forever to find a chrono that could measure the thing). I could knock over a pig pile of bricks at 20 ft. with this, so I can imagine that it would cause severe internal damage to someone at close range. Also, it is a very simple thing when you look at it; it is basically a CO2 tank with a valve and a big pipe attached to it. Anything can be fired from it because of a lack of any precautions to ensure that only the foam rocket i loaded into it: I actually got it to fire a pile of gravel at a 4x4. It ripped the wood apart, which shows how dangerous it is. You can also fire it empty, which sends a big rush of air out of the barrel to mess up someone's hair, blow around papers, e.t.c.
It is pretty damn cool, firing foam missiles at lethal velocities and all, but it's lack of safety features leaves me worried. Also, it's pretty expensive, so I can't imagine anyone getting one on the near future. I can build something out of PVC piping and slide valves for $20.00 that is just like this thing! Nonetheless, very cool. I'll give it a 10, since it cannot be compared to a paintball gun.

I've used similar launchers such as the ones loaned out by Macks Xtreme Sportz at their scenarios.
I typically play as demolitions role player and carry my MKX launcher and a PMI USP. Or if I don't need to "blow anything up" I'll carry a vm-68, piranah sts, tippmann, mag or something else that might be on hand. (I'm a bit of a gun whore)
Better than PVC, 2shots per 12gram on a quick changer, recomend 3.5oz tank
Heavy, Nerfs hard to find at times.
The price on this site needs a bit of an update. I got mine for 400.00 and I believe you can get them unassembled for much less, but I didn't want to bother with assembly
I have a feeling that the other few people who've added reviews on this site are talking about some other item. The MKX Alias launcher is not any more dangerous than any other conventional paintball gun. I have plenty of experience with all types of launchers used in scenario paintball and I have yet to see one give a person any injury. Yes these are intimidating, untill you get shot with a nerf round and then people tend to get over their fear. From the scenarios that I've played at the promoters inspect everyones launcher before the game. I've never had one tell me I couldn't use my MKX but I have seen people be told that their home made pvc launcher was not approved for play. These launchers get chronographed just like anything else, the exception being that they usually get limited to 250 fps.
Someone else posted something about killing animals with one of these. I wish that person would share some of what they were smoking. Yes, you could probably kill a spider or other small insect if you shot a rocket at it, but then a paintball could accomplish the same thing.
Only bad thing about this launcher is Its a bit on the heavy side so I don't usually tote around a large marker when I play with this. Instead I carry a pistol with it.
Also, The sling that it comes with usually needs to be replaced with a larger one to make it easier to shoulder when hiking across a scenario field.
Another review mentioned the lack of safety features. I'm not sure what they were reviewing because mine came with a safety. Its the little button by the trigger that I keep seeing other players forget that they have on their regular markers. The only down side to safety is that I had to custom make a barrel blocking device out of an old hopper cover for it.
Most of the games that I've played won't allow firing a law at a ground troop, although when scenarios simulate helicopters and other aircraft they are suseptible to law rocket attacks. Its pretty satisfying to eliminate 5 or 6 players with a single rocket.
Of course the law rockets are also used to eliminate tanks, and what we call "bunker busting".
Some promoters also call on players to use a sabbot or grape shot round. This is basically a bundle of paint all being fired together. Again, this is subject to a lower chronograph speed than a standard marker. Also, in my experience I get better range using a nerf vortex rocket than a 12 round pack of grape shot anyway.
Also, if anyone is playing at fields in the midwest, Indiana to Kansas, and you find one of my rockets please give me a call, my cell # is writen on my rockets. We demolitions players prefer to get our nerfs returned to us, otherwise you'll jinx yourself into being chewed up by some tank that could have been eliminated if only I had that rocket.
I highly recomend players borrow a launcher from a promoter or a friend if they are interested in playing a demolitions role. Its better to get to try out the role before making such a large purchase. If you don't mind getting in close and being overshot by tanks as you try to save the day, then you might as well carry along something reliable to send the tank to the scrap heap, and the MKX launcher will fill that role admirably.

I picked this up when my team told me they were looking for new demo players. Since we only had one demo guy, I jumped at the chance. I had heard good things about this launcher, so I got it, and believe me, it doesn't disappoint.
This is definitely a scenario launcher. I have used it at EMR during the Tippmann Extraveganza and at Command Decisions Paintball for the Fulda Gap game. This is a must have for any demo guy. I can't count the number of tanks I took out with this thing. And the fact that its lighter than other launchers out there makes moving really easy. This launcher was built for a mobile tank hunter. It's really not that heavy, and I find it easy to sprint and slide into bunkers without skipping a beat.
The only downsides to it aside from those listed above is the fact that I have to trim a bit from the fins of the Nerf Vortex footballs I use. If I don't, they spiral strangely and don't fly straight. Other than that, its a great launcher.
I would definitely recommend this launcher to everyone from the newly picked demo guy to a seasoned tank hunter. Definitely worth a look.

Fast reloading compared to homemade LAWs

I picked the MKX up because my team needed a launcher after our homemade ones went crap on us.
This thing is so beautifully nice for the tank hunter, or just for the one who wants to clear a fort or bunker.
Reloading is breech loaded, the barrel/chamber slides away and tilts up for easy loading of a nerf rocket, then snaps back into place to fire.
The launcher is considerable smaller and lighter than many of its homemade contenders I've seen, and can hit targets that are much farther away accurately. Because of an internal regulator, the MKX is also much safer than the homemade jobs that could blow on you without proper planning.
Lastly, it carries that mil sim feel to it.
If you're into scenario games and need a tank hunting weapon, this is the best one on the market. I love it.
