Review:
The cushioning of the head band does provide enough protection so that you will not be injured by a head shot (assuming it is not a point blank bunker shot!). The cushion will also probably provide additional bounces or no breaks which is helpful. However, if you are looking for protection to the back of the head, this piece of equipment is not for you.
I will definately use the headband, but will have to come up with something to protect from the bunker to the back of the head (maybe avoid getting bunkered, hmm...)
To the manufacturer, I would encourage you to increase the length of the rear flap so that is covers the back of the head. Although it is more likely that you will take a shot the front or side of the head, it is also common to take shots to the back of the head, especially front men.
Conclusion:
I will give this item a 7 because it does its job for the most part, but could use some improvement, specifically additional padding to the back of the head.
