drawstring sack that came with my goggles, weak in comparison
Marker Setup:
Silver Bullet LCD - Black, 16" Dye Ultralight 2pc - Black, Evo2 - Black, 20oz Co2, Proto switch goggles, 32 degrees 3+2 harness on a Military pistol belt w/ H-strap harness.
Strengths:
Heavy duty, lightly padded, various pockets, roomy enough to leave visor on goggles.
Weaknesses:
Strap snap is not a tight fit.
Review:
I use the proto switch system and they fit very well into this particular bag. The sides of the bag have a 1/4 inch foam core for jostling protection. I like all the pockets on top of the bag they're quite handy to carry odds and ends.
I only have two beefs with the bag. 1) the lenses on the proto system have an 'extreme' curve to them and so storing them in the 'lens pocket' is not an option lest they break. So that pocket is useless to me. 2) the carry strap can be detached at one end via a snap. This snap is not very strong and tends to release itself at will when being carried. Annoying when being carried by hand, ultra irritating if you strapped it to your gear as you walk back to the car or whatever as the bag will just drop to the ground.
Conclusion:
It's a good product. Keeps your goggles from getting beat up to and from the field. Much more protection than a drawstring bag. Ronin needs to rethink the carry strap, maybe use a clip and D ring instead of a snap.
This is a great mask bag if you lost your old one or want to upgrade the pouch your mask came with. It's tough and will protect your goggles from all manner of environmental hazards too and from the field.
HOWEVER....
Whoever laid down the design specs on the large size accessory pouch should be horsewhipped. It is the perfect diameter for a 9 oz spray can of Plexus, BUT the velco flap to hold the can in is not long enough to secure it. Given that Plexus is one of the more popular sprays and is found and recommended by pretty much every shop around, this is an unacceptable oversight.
I can't speak for other sprays.
Conclusion:
Good bag but unless you are tailor and can modify the retention straps, don't expect to have your Plexus handy.
Protects your mask
Has a bunch of pockets for miscellaneous things
Cheap
Weaknesses:
The handle
Review:
Its a nice bag and very decently priced; $10 if i remember correctly. It protects my mask nicely and has a bunch of pockets for other stuff. The only problem i have with it it the handle. The handle is attached to the bag on one side by a button snap thingy. The logic behind this is that you can now undo handle and attach it to your bag so you dont have to carry it. Its a nice idea but the button is weak. It will hold my mask, but if i put a bunch of stuff in the pockets, then it will easy come undone, which is quite annoying if you are trying to carry it.
Conclusion:
It is a nice, and cheap bag. You might want to sew the handle on to the bag on the button side so it wont come undone on you but besides that, its a really nice and cheap bag and i recommend it.
Phantom VSC-45, Frantom II with SS inserts,Dye stickes3
Strengths:
Nice anti-fog, spare lense and other small compartments.
Weaknesses:
I counldn't hold mine by the handle.
Review:
Its a O.K. bag, I liked having a place to put my spare lense, and other small parts. I didn't like the handle, the snap wouldn't snap, I ended up having to put a few safety pins through the handle and bag to make it to where I could carry it.
Conclusion:
Great bag except for having to fix the handle. You can put extra lenses, anti-fog and other small items like knives and such in it.
Protective, has pockets for extras. Not much more I really want in a mask bag.
Weaknesses:
None yet
Review:
I like this bag alot. As the other reviewer said, foam walls, and extra lense pockets. I simply keep the extra lenses in some celephane, and leave them in with the goggles. My mask is a Proflex, and fits fine. I havn't had anyproblems with the handle unsnapping, though maybe I will. But as of yet, it seems secure enough.
Conclusion:
Works great for me. Great protection for my goggles, especially for ease of transport or storage. If i have any problems, I'll update this review, but so far its been perfect for me.
