The Firestorm Crank™ is a simple but effective, rapid fire trigger attachment for your Tippmann 98 and Custom 98.  The Firestorm Crank™ will fire the trigger on your 98 paintball marker 4 times for every turn of the crank. Turn it 10 times and lay down a firestorm. It will shoot the 98 at 12-14 paintball per second. It mounts easily with just two screws that tighten up on the trigger guard; it’s even easier to use. Choose whether you want to use it right handed or left handed. You don’t even have to take apart you marker! After mounting, just attach your Co2 or air tank, fill your hopper with paintballs and you’re ready to go. Release the safety on your marker and you’re ready to fire by “cranking the handle”.  It’s like having a Paintball Gating gun!
Product Availability
The Equalizer Paintball Firestorm Crank is older, so while it may be available used and in a few cases new, it is not commonly available anymore.

Firestorm Crank
Strengths: -Dramatically improved ROF for the price and easy to use/install
Weaknesses: -Kind of a waste of paint, but not if u have the money (like me)
Review: I bought the crank after seeing a video of it on the internet. When i played i was able to mow my friends down very easily. Just make sure you buy an electric hopper or else you'll break paint for sure in a longer barrel. It 's easy to use and install and is definately worht the 40 bucks or so.
Conclusion: It's a great way to improve your ROF for the money. It's looks cool, sounds cool, and is an intimadating force on the fields.

Marker Setup: Main: 98C with Palmer's Stabalizer, remote line, Dead on Rocket Cock , and Tapco M-4 style stock. (darn Army training. I am too used to having a stock)

Mission: Brass Eagle Stingray II with two differant J&J Performance ceramic barrels won in a big game at Hole in The Wall Painball; Bangor, MI.
Strengths: Easy to install

Easy to use

Easy to remove
Weaknesses: Need a fast hopper

Review: This is a great product if you can find one. Supposedly the Equalizer Company went out of buisness so unless your pro-shop has some on hand you will only be able to find them on E-bay or on the buy/sell/trade section of forums.

The Firestorm Crank is all too easy to install and remove from the trigger guard. It should be legal at almost all fields because it is technically one shot per trigger pull. You also need a very decent hopper with a fast feed rate. I have a Revolution Tri-pod from View Loader and it cannot keep up when I am cranking. Even though my hopper cannot keep up with the rate of fire this crank can put out I still use it from time to time when I hit the speedball field.

It is a good idea to tighten down the screws every so often between games while out at the field. One day when I started off using my crank it fell off the trigger guard half way through the day. I had forgotten the allen wrench for it at home so I played the rest of the day without it.

One of the great things about the Firestorm Crank is you do not always have to turn the handle to fire your marker. Unless you have large hands you should be able to put your finger on the trigger when you do not need a large volume of paint flying.

I have not had any problems keeping my marker somewhat steady when using the crank. I just hold onto the foregrip a little tigher and pull the marker into my shoulder more.
Conclusion: If you want a higher rate of fire but do not want to alter your marker permanantly the Firestorm Crank is the way to go. Just remember you will need a fast hopper to keep up.

I don't think that there is any paintball gun crank out there besides this one......
Marker Setup: CCI Phantom-back bottle - red dot sight - detent rings - trigger shoe - stock 14 inch barrel.
Strengths: ROF is great and its easy to install and use and it is cheap.
Weaknesses: It burns through paint but if you can afford it, it's nice.
Review: This crank is a great addition to your 98. It fits the custom 98 or the old model 98. I put it on my old 98 and made a 30 cal machine gun replica and mounted it. It works well in a tight situation. The crank is the least expensive way to make your marker capable of full auto rates of fire. This crank beats the Response Trigger in price and gives you a good ROF compared to thr RT. I think it is just as fast or extremely close to the ROF of the RT. It can be used for left or right handed cranking. The thing about the crank though is that you probably want a stock to give you a very comfortable feel when using the crank. The crank is also field legal because it is only one shot per trigger pull, it's just that the crank is pulling the trigger very fast. I think this would be a great addition to a 98 or any paintball marker in that case to achieve full auto ROF for a cheaper price than any other full auto add ons.
Conclusion: I recommend this product very strongly because it is a cheap way to achieve full auto capabilities and is field legal. It is neat to mount the 98 to have a mounted "Gatling gun" as well.

Review: For those in California. This item is a Felony to possess Even though its marketed for a Paintball gun this item will fit on a firearm. Be aware before you buy one.

refer to Cal Penal Code section 12020 (redacted for this item)

12020. (a) Any person in this state who does any of the following
is punishable by imprisonment in a county jail not exceeding one year
or in the state prison:.............any multiburst trigger activator.........,

As used in this section, a "multiburst trigger activator"
means one of the following devices:
(A) A device designed or redesigned to be attached to a
semiautomatic firearm which allows the firearm to discharge two or
more shots in a burst by activating the device.
(B) A manual or power-driven trigger activating device constructed
and designed so that when attached to a semiautomatic firearm it
increases the rate of fire of that firearm.
Conclusion: Just a warning for California players

Strengths: It does what it says it will.
Weaknesses: Slows team down
Breaks Paint
Needs upgrades to function properly
Review: Well, it was cool when me and my buds were just playing with it, but the damn thing wastes paint, doesn't keep people down and wastes CO2. Also, my bud's remote couldn't supply enough CO2 to it. The only time it worked was when the tank was connected directly to the gun.

My big problem with this is that it was hard to fire because it makes you use your left hand to fire and there is no hand aiming. Also, it slowed our squad down and we were forced to leave this guy behind (not that he would come anyway, he hid everywhere). Really didn't help the team.
Conclusion: Sure, it's cool and does what it says, but it's awkward and slows the team down.
