| Review: |
This gun is sick. I got it about 8 AM on Saturday morning and rushed to Pball Command (home of the Rock-it Kids) I put the maxflo togehter in the car on the way there and mounted it to the gun when I got there. The first thing i do is get an air fill and buy a bag of 500. Then I jacked someone's mask (I didn't actually go there to play I had work at 11 AM) and rushed out to the chrono range. There was this kid out there with an alias he just got like a week ago. Anyways we got into a arguement about who's gun is faster. He goes first and pulls a decent 18 or 19 bps- 21 is his record. so after he goes I turn on my gun for the first time, turn on the maxflo, take two test shots, then I rip as fast as I could. I nearly sh*t my pants i have no idea how fast I was shooting I've never heard a gun shoot that fast ever before. And remember this is straight of the box the only thing I adjusted was the rate of recharge or whatever its called. I had to decide on what gun i was going to get and I was thinking either alias, a4 fly or Nerve. Now having shot all 3 I wouldn't think twice about getting the Nerve. I actually played with it today and I wasn't really watching air efficiency but i know I got at least a hopper and 8 pods from a fill but i went to go gtet it refilled and forgot to look how much psi was left. So many people wanted to shoot it though, they would ask me if they could load one of their pods and try it out. Everybody's response was pretty much the same, "Holy [bleep] that is the fastest gun I've ever shot" One thing to note, the turns on oppostie to an impulse cause I'm pretty sure with a impulse standard mode comes on first and if you press the button again it switches to vision mode. The Nerve starts in vision mode and I didn't know that so I actually did chop a ball once. |
 |
| Conclusion: |
i'm not gonna be a little b*tch and complain about price cause 1500 is not bad for a gun and a tank. I mean, an alias is 13 and a fly is 14 and the Nerve beats the crap out of both of them so it's a pretty sweet deal. Pick one up if can get your hands on one. Mine is S/N#0009 and there are like 50 made so there not exactly easy to get. But it's probably better if you don't get it cause if you do you will never be satisfied with another gun again. |

| Review: |
I got this gun as soon as they started selling from pball wholesellers near my house in Maryland. I play for UMCP in the college leauge and I took this to practice last Sunday. All I can say is wow!!! First of all I gassed it up for the first time and shot it without any adjustments, the chrono read 290, 289, 295, 300... sickness.
It almost has no kick to it and its profile is very small. It is not only extreamly easy to rip on, it is also very easy to maintain the rates of fire. With the freak the kit you can put the paint where you want it and lots of it. Also since it comes with a freak barrel and a insert, u can save lots of money by just having to buy 3 or 4 inserts. The gun is light enough for a front player but more than fast enough for any back player to rip on. With the solid eyes you will not have to worry about chopping. I put about 5000 rounds through it and no breaks or chops at all. Also I shot without my egg on and the eyes did their job. This is without a doubt up there with the top3 guns ever made when it comes to pure speed and accuracy. The feedneck is one of the best that Iv seen. It can be adjusted to hold on tight to any loader u can imagine but u can release the grip by flicking a lever with one finger. Very convinient.
The max flow's on the marker also do their job very well but they do have a break in period so except some fluctuations until it breaks in. The maxflow integral lpr is extreamly east to adjust and even though it does not affect the pressure all that much, it is very convinient in helping to maintain a 290 fps velocity if u want to set your vert max flow to a lower pressure. I would also suggest turning down your dwell because the defualt setting is a gas hog. But to do this u will have to mess with the lpr to maintain a decent velocity
The trigger is very nice as well. It as 4 points of adjustment. It took me about a hour of fiddling but I found the best setting for me and it was ripping like crazy. 3 of the 4 points can be adjusted from the otside with a .50 allen key wrench, but the magnet tension is a little harder to adjust. You have to open the grip frame, take out the circuit board and battery and then its easy to adjust with a 1 8th allen key. Its ok though because u will only have to adjust the magnet once or twice before you get the oull how u want it. WARNING - do not turn in the activation screw too much with rebound on or your gun will go into full auto LOL. This happened to me and it took me a while to get it corrected. The trigger does have some side to side play but u can fix this with some very thin washers or wait till people start making aftermarket parts for it, as they are sure to do. However for the tiem being, its hardly even noticable so its not that big of a deal.
The circuit board is extremly small and compact and the grip frame was definatly done right. The grips are very comfortable, the trigger frame has ample room to adjust the trigger and to fit ur hand comfortably. Back to the circuit board, Once you open the grip via 4 screws on both sides of the grip frame, You will notice how Smartparts designers took very good use of the small space that they have inside the grip frame. The circuit board itself is extreamly small. To adjust the Rof, Dwell times, and rebound, you use two small grey buttons on the left side of the board. The dwell is easy enough to adjust and so is the rof, but the directions for the rebound are kinda bad imo.. Could have been designed a lil better, but once again not a big deal.
I have not owned this marker for long but maintaining the marker seems to be pretty easy. It comes with a delrin twist lock bolt and the hammervalve assembly comes out almost as easily. You don't need to grease the bolt down and since I have yet to chop a ball, all you need to do is whipe down the detent area just to keep the geletin from building up in your breech. Occasionally you will want to clean your regs as well and grease your o rings on the hammer assembly.
Last but not least I would just like to say one thing that I foudn really tight about this marker. Even though I said it does have a few air efficiency problems, for soem reason whenever I got to the last 10 shots of air left in my tank there was NO drop off and I am not exagerating. I was not the only person to notice this either. Its hard to even tell when you are running out of air unless u look at the tank ebcause all the shots seem the same until there is not enough air to even activate the valve and hammer assembly. That was a really nice surprise to me to say the least |
 |
| Conclusion: |
This gun is the shiznit to sum it up. I have shot many guns and this is my favorite out them all. Only a very few even compare to its speed and those would be maybe the dm4, timmies, and angels.. or some very modified mid-range high-end guns. Its probably the smallest gun out there and very close to the lightest. Looks are sexxy and the paintjob was flawless. It comes with tons of nice features but a price tag that reflects this however. Gun is not for everyone but if u are serious about p ball and play in tourneys then you should look into getting this gun no question about that. So to wrap it all up the goods are very fast, light, easy to maintain, good eyes, nice design, cool modes, did I say fast!!, sexxy millingpolish (personal opinion), LP, Little to no kick, very accurate even at high ROF. However no marker is perfect to I will list the very few negatives I have found (minor ones at that) - takes tinkering to make it gas effiicient, some side to side trigger play, Reg break in period (not nessesarly a negative but its not positive either so i just put it here :D ) even though this is with al new guns. Still gets a easy 1010 from me!! |

OK, I really like the clamping neck its the best I've ever used.No twisting makes it easy to use and it works great.
Freak barrel- not much needs to be said. Its accurate especially since it is the Stainless steel one that comes standard.
Delirin bolt- easy to remove. no lubing ever. works well
Trigger- can be adjusted at 5 points!!!! super customizeable
Max-Flo- Same as on the Shocker SFT just new outer shape. Works awesome, very consistent, I mean its a Max-Flo what else can you expect.
Outer Design/Looks- It looks like a solid design, like its not gonna fall apart and its looks are pretty sleek.
Feel- It feels like a solid gun and its pretty light, 2 pounds 2 ounces, I think if it were any lighter it would feel fragile.
Ramping board- Not legal for some tournaments, but it can be turned off. There are five settings on the "rebound" board. Off, low, mid, high, and really high. This board can rip seriously 30 bps truly no lies.
Internals- all top of the line stuff and its realy easy to take apart so its all good

 |
| Conclusion: |
I really like this gun and I highly recomend it. Smart parts really took there time on this and it seems to have paid off. Nothing is perfect, but of all the markers out there this is closest. |

| Review: |
I picked up a Nerve after wanting to be different from the Timmy and DM4 crowd here in my area. Thought that Smart Parts had done their homework on this gun since they pushed back the release date on it for so long. However mine had the original hammer problem which was causing wear inside the shaft due to rubbing . This caused it to basically eat itself out and the resistance didn't allow my Nerve to shoot over 270fps. Put her back in the box and she was sent off.
The marker finally came back and they put in a new hammer which has a nylon sleeve around it and I think the bolt has a slightly tapered front now. This thing shoots fast. And I mean fast. I don't need any of that ramp. Ramp to me just allows you to tangibly see your marker shoot fast if you've got slow or lazy fingers. If I'm not allowed to use it at tournaments, my only option for it is in the chrono room or on a field with renters and beginners because I don't think my team would appreciate me taking "cheap" shots at them at practice. Besides, I've got pretty fast fingers as it is. I don't know if it's the case but I think the Nerve is capped at a lower bps with ramp on than it is with it off.
Without ramp this marker will shoot as fast as the DM4, Alias, Angel Speed and the sort as long as you have the fast loader, a nice trig setup and the fingers to make it happen.
My big gripe with the marker is in the design. The eyes basically run right thru the firing piston. So...whenever you have to clean or grease the marker up, you have to take the eyes out before the hammer can be removed. Failure to do so can result in the eye ribbon getting ripped. Another problem with this is if you chop, paint will will drip down the hole that the eye ribbon runs thru and into the the grip frame resulting in a mess. Paint will actually come out the trigger and now you'll have to take the thing apart in order to do the clean up.
A roller trigger would also be something that one might one to look into for this gat as I find the stock one a little stiff. |
 |
| Conclusion: |
It all comes down to preference and how much you want to spend on the marker. I'm all about the bolt on this marker because I do not want sand and dirt getting into my marker (the field I practice at uses dirt surface). The Nerve is meant to be Smart Parts' flagship marker now and it is a great marker once set up properly. And with that I mean tweaking with the dwell, ROF, operating pressure and so forth. But I suppose that that could be said about most markers out there. The thing shoots crazy fast but if you are in a situation where you need to take it apart while at a tourney...don't be suprised if you need to have it sit out a game because you need to take out more than you would with say a DM4. Nice thing about the Nerve is that it isn't filled with a whack load of O-rings like the DM4.
I love the Freak barrel system that comes with it as a standard and the unique feed neck locking mechanism is genius. That is the feature that gets the most praise for this marker and is something that everyone envies.
My big peeve on the marker is the whole eye ribbon running thru the piston and it having to be removed when teching and paint dripping down into the trigger frame.
If you want fast...the Nerve will deliver. I'm not giving this marker a 10 because nothing's perfect and the Nerve could be better. To me a perfect marker would take a little from the Nerve, the Dye Matrixes and 05 Angel Speeds and make a sweet operating hybrid out of them. But I don't see these companies giving up on patents and sharing all their designs to do so. |

| Review: |
My way of testing a gun is not very scientific. I am a gun whore and try every new gun that comes out. I have shot practically everything out there. My gun of choice at this time is my Featherlite Viking because of its Speed, Efficiency, and Accuracy.
I just got in the red Nerve Ultimate Package with Maxflo reg and tank. The gun was already set up with a on/off drop so I just hooked up an adjustable tank. The clamping feedneck was fantastic. I was able to drop my Empire reloader B and a quick flick of the lever and bam, it was secure. This took about 5 seconds. The best thing since sliced bread. I just wish I were the one that thought of this design. Great Job! I can't wait to order them for all my guns!
The first time I held the Nerve, it felt like a combination of my DM4, Impulse, Shocker and Cyborg. It felt great in my hand and felt well balanced. I was impressed with the way it looked, milling, ano, and the stainless insert they included.
I aired it up and shot about 200 rounds through it to test it out and see what all the hype was all about. I had no intention of keeping this gun from the start because I am true to my Vike. I was pretty amazed with the way it shot out of the boX! It was very fast and accurate. I was able to easily rip on this gun with no problems. My initial reaction was this thing is as fast as my vike. I was very impressed. It shot somewhat like my DM4, shocker, and Impulse put together. It had very little kick if any. I honestly can't remember since I only shot about 200 rds and was more amazed at the speed.
I feel Smart Parts has created one of the best guns out there. I really believe it will take the industry by storm just like the DM4 or the Impulse did several years back. Maybe it will shut up all those Smart Parts bashers out there. By the way, all those who negatively commented on this thing before it came out should just shut up until you try it or any other product you decide to negatively comment without shooting it. Just my opinion. Sorry if I offended any of you.
UMCD Terp23- a few threads down gave a real nice review of this gun which I agree totally on.
I will be selling this if anyone is interested because I definitely will be ordering a black one, red is just too bright for me.
Great job Smart Parts, you came up with a nice gat! |
 |
| Conclusion: |
I would highly recommend this to any gun whore like myself. I think you will be happy with it. It is expensive but no more expensive than a DM4 and I think it feels better to hold. |

| Review: |
First, I'll start with some background. I've been playing paintball for quite some time. My first marker was a splatmaster, bought in the mid '80s. I've owned and/or shot just about every marker on the planet. I've been a sponsored player (by Line SI in the late '80s, early '90s) and have played my share of rec ball.
Now, onto the review.
1) Initial impression. I was very impressed by the looks of the Nerve. The body milling is very nice. It has a bit of flair to it, but not too much to make it obnoxious. For such a light marker, it feels very well put together. The fittings are solid, and everything feels tight. The Nerve is very appealing right out the box.
2) Included equipment. Smart Parts really put together a nice system. They included their top of the line barrel (stainless freak back, stainless .693 insert, matching 14" AA front). They also included a MaxFlo vertical reg, an ASA with on/off, macro line and fittings, as well as a very uniquely designed and extremely well thought out feed neck. All you need is a hopper and an air source, and you're ready to go. Kudos to Smart Parts for this.
3) Marker assembly/disassembly. I found the marker extremely easy to tear down and reassemble. The only thing that worried me on the full disassembly was the eye ribbon. After reading all the warnings about how it will rip, I was a bit nervous. However, when I did get the marker apart, my worries were gone. In terms of field stripping to clean any paint/debris, the Nerve has one of the simplest systems around. Unscrew the barrel, turn the rear knob 1/8 turn clockwise and remove the bolt assembly. Run your squeegee through and you're ready to go again.
4) Adjustment. This is another strong point for the Nerve. I took my nerve out of the box, gassed it up, and let it rip. I was exteremly impressed with how it shot out of the box. The MaxFlo was relatively consistent at +-7 over the chrono. The stock board does not have many of the settings found in some aftermarket products, but it does have enough to satisfy most players. Adjustable dwell and recharge allow you to effectively choose a rate of fire up to the hardware cap of 24bps with vision enabled, or 18bps with vision disabled. You can also choose one of 4 ramping modes, or the NPPL legal semi-only. My only complaint with the board are its lack of more fine-tuned adjusments, and the need to press different combinations to set things. For example, to adjust the recharge, you have to hold in the trigger while pressing the up or down buttons on the board.
Other adjustments can be made to input pressures via the MaxFlo and the LPR. A gauge for LPR pressure would have been nice. Oh well, as long as you don't do anything foolish like crank up your MaxFlo to insane pressures and then turn your LPR all the way in, you're safe. If you must see the pressure going into the solenoid, you can purchase the LPR tester by New Designz. $25 is a small price to pay if you're worried about how much pressure is coming from your LPR, especially with the cost of a replacement solenoid.
5) On the field. The Nerve is adept at playing anywhere. It has the ability to stand up in the back and throw ropes of paint, and it is light and small enough to satisfy the front man. I have noticed a bit of first shot drop off, but with a good 14 more balls following that first one in the first second, I can live with it. This issue should be addressed by the new valve and LPR/volumizer Smart Parts is developing.
6) Complaints. Since I have only one major complaint, I thought it merited its own section. My complaint is with the trigger. It just feels sloppy. It is not the nice, crisp pull I would have expected. This is the one major area Smart Parts missed in an otherwise spectacular setup. |
 |
| Conclusion: |
Conclusion. I'm very impressed with this marker. It's a gas-n-go application right out of the box for those who don't wish to muck around with settings. For those that do, it offers up a moderate amount of adjustments to help you fine-tune your preferences. Smart Parts put out a winner. |

| Review: |
I got this marker at Paintball Wholesalers in Westminster as my first high end marker. All I can say is WOW. This thing was tearing up the competition. At first I didn't want to buy the marker because of many people saying that this gun needs to be fixed a lot. After I did some research and finally got to test it, its one of the best markers I have used. This marker already comes stacked up with goodies. When I first went to test it at the chronograph station I was amazed. 299, 298, 300, 299. I had made not a single adjustment and its was shooting almost perfect. The marker is so fast and I was at least shooting fifteen without ramping. The eyes rarely chop on me at all and I was very accurate with my shots. The marker has a good profile and the On/Off valve works and turns off the air fast. When you turn the marker on you are already in eyes mode. The marker is very quiet compared to some other high ends. The trigger frame is the same as a Shocker and I was able to put in a new Shocker/Nerve Roller Blade trigger on my Nerve. The bolt is so easy to take out for a quick clean in the game and your back in action. A quick turn, pull and your done. The bad things I have found: the marker is a little heavy and sometimes the bolt comes out a little to far. A fix with a squeegee. I had a new trigger put in and was amazed with the performance. So much easier to go into ramping and was able to shoot much faster than I was with the stock trigger. You can ajust the trigger to 5 different settings to what you like. $30 and they installed the Roller Blade for free. Get a Nerve because they don't have many left and you will be amazed. Overall this marker is a beast and I would definitely get another one as a back up. |
 |
| Conclusion: |
Get the Nerve before they run out!!!!!!!!!! I got my marker for $475 and its a steal for how nice it is!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

Alright. this is fast out of the box. However, smart parts claims it is "tournament ready straight out of the box." This is not true. More like "tournament disqualification out of the box" because i don't know a single tournament that allows the ramping board. I know someone who used it right out of the box in a big tournament and his team got disqualified. kinda sucks losing a $500 entrance fee after paying $1200 for a gun you thought would be good. The ramping board can be turned off, but with it off the nerve is no faster than an imulse. Why pay the extra $$$? I just can't find a single thing to make this worth buying. You can get a really nice impulse, a DM4, and angel speed, or alot of other things for the same price that will perform all around better and will be tournament ready without turning off a main feature of the gun. |

When I first got my nerve wasn't sure what to think. It didn't seem to shoot good.I later found out it had to break in a dificult max flow.when it finally settled down whoa was this thing awsome. It is just as or in most cases more accurate as anything i ever shot.It is lighting fast with or without ramping.I love this gun smart part out did themselves. In many cases it is the person that makes a great paintball player but this gun definitly helps. |

| Conclusion: |
If you want one of the most accurate guns, and fastest guns out with great vision, great feel, and good looks get a Nerve |

Ok my first time out with the gun was amazing....
I went to an indoor field ...everyone wanted to touch it lol....
We put it to rebound 5 to test it out and were dry firing it and was like damn its slow lol....Once you load it up with paint its INSANE....
I let all my friends try it and they couldnt believe it...
I turned the rebound off and the gun was still very fast....
NIce feature is that as soon as you power it on its in vision mode.....
I personally like this gun better then my FF shocker and A4FLY....I know its all preference but if you could try one of these things out definitly do. And mess with the rebound its fun lol.....
This is the first gun that out of the box i was able to really rip with....You can adjust the trigger to your liking and believe me you will like it. |
 |
| Conclusion: |
If you have the money get one....I couldnt be more happy with anything else...Its fast, light, accurate....If i could give it an 11 i would. |
