Nice wide belt to hold pack securely, yet its thin enough material that it folds when you bend, also elastic enough to stretch where you stretch.
The pack tightening system is exactly like a safety back belt that you would wear on a heavy lifting job site. once the belt is on you, there are two tabs on one on each side that you must Velcro in place and the tighter you pull the more the pack tightens, useful when you start emptying out the pods on the larger packs, because when fully loaded they tend to arch with the curve of the pods. This does however tighten the belt contrary to what the website says, how can it not? There is a stationary object, the pods, pulling against the belts main point of attachment, the main belt Velcro area. When real tight it makes it more difficult to bend over. But I still say its a plus over all.
