The Good:
This gauge looks simple, clean, and matches my scheme pretty well. It wasn't expensive either. I got mine on eBay for under $10 shipped.
The Bad:
Purchased this product a month ago, and went paintballing this weekend. The gauge was working fine all day, but when I got home to clean the gun, I noticed that the spring in the gauge is out of place, and the needled is well below 0. I gassed it up, and the needle moved, but was still under 0. The gauge is now only good for telling you if there's air, or no air in the system.
The Ugly:
If Smart Parts won't replace this defective item. I will update on the return process. |
 |
| Conclusion: |
This was probably a manufacture defect, and I'll be calling Smart Parts for a replacement.
EDIT:
Smart Parts has acknowledged the problem with the paper backing with the measurements shifting in some of their gauges. They have agreed to send me a replacement. |

| Review: |
I purchased this reg because I was annoyed by the huge size of my stock ashcroft guage. I wanted something small like the Phat guage on my tank. The only thing in the pressure range I wanted at the local shop was the Smart Parts. So far, it is adequate. It is just a reg after all. One complaint is that it doesn't have enough graduations to get a precise input pressure. |
 |
| Conclusion: |
It is not as precise as my Ashcroft, but it isn't a big target either. The face is boring, Crossfire, Bob long and Phat all have more creative face decore, even if it is just their emblem. Get it if you need a small guage and that is all there is. |

Accurate readings. |

Mine blew after only 6-8 cases of paint. |

| Review: |
I hardly had experience with this guage before it blew. I had turned my reg down (like i do every time i gas up) and gassed up. The guage shot to 180. I thought i adjusted the reg wrong, maybe turning it up by accident. So i turned it down & shot a few - the guage reading didn't go down but i was having cycling issues, like the pressure was too low. So regardless of what the guage read, i turned it up, then heard a loud leaking. Degassed & removed the tank and let the remaining air hiss out of wherever it was coming out from.
I looked at the guage - it still read 180. I turned the Ion back on, turn the eyes off and shot - no air came out. I removed the guage. Still read 180. It's forever stuck at 180, even now as it sits on my coffee table with the rest of my discarded stock parts. |
 |
| Conclusion: |
I've heard of other people's stock Ion guages blowing so i wasn't surprised mine crapped out. Guess i'll give it a 5 because it worked fine - when it was working. |
