The "X-95" High efficiency bolt kit is available for the DM5. Using our patented spool valve technology, this bolt gives us well over 1600 shots from a 68/4500 fill.
New style o-rings are used throughout the kit giving a super smooth cycling time even at low LPR pressures and low dwell times. Ran 1.5 turns on the LPR with no drop off with a dwell of 12. 6 months warranty.
The Evolve Paintball X-95 Bolt Kit is older, so while it may be available used and in a few cases new, it is not commonly available anymore.
smoother while shooting strings
Installation was a snap, straight drop in
None that I can think of.
It was hard to find at first and I didn't want to buy something from the UK. I latter found out that bumppaintball carries them here in the US so I gave it shot. It came packaged really nice, in a pod.
Followed the instructions and gassed it up. Not only am I getting way more pods out of it, I also notice the marker shooting more smooth. Not much more I can ask for. Its a bolt. No leaks or anything which is good. So for 125, I got more pods and a smoother operating marker.
It also came with extra orings with is a plus. Just in case a install went bad I guess but its very simple.
Installation is pretty straight foward and easy. I don't know why people are saying they are hard to install. Must be the older ones?
Right now, I am getting about 1500 shots per 68/45 fill. Not bad at all.
Get it, you won't regret it. Not much I can rave on about since it just does what it was suppose to and more. Its shoots more pods per fill and it runs smoother as a plus. Simple install. Slide out the old bolt, grease and slide in the new one. Screw in end cap. Follow the simple instructions on your reg settings and dwell, and you're set.

The bolt leaked when I first installed it.
I ordered and received my x-95 in 3 days from Evolve. And it was shipped from the UK. It came nicely packaged in a pod with extra o-rings. The installation was extremely simple. You take your stock bolt out and slip the new one in. Easy. I turned my LPR down to two turns out and changed my dwell to 12 all before I aired it up. When I attached my tank and turned my on/off to on I was horrified. The bolt was leaking out of the front. I tried tinkering with a few things and could not get the leak to stop. So I removed the bolt and wiped the Dow 33 off and relubed with Evolve's Cinnamon grease. I put everything back together, aired it up and the leak was worse. I was pissed. So I went to several sites to see what the heck was going on. Almost every site I came across said to change all of the orings that actually touch the bolt. I looked inside the to find the orings and I promise you that changing the orings was the last thing I wanted to do. It's very tight inside. So, I put even more lube on everything and reinstalled the kit. I aired it up and it was still leaking. Again the last thing I wanted to do was change the orings. So here's what I did. While the air was on, I adjusted the pressure on my reg turning the pressure up higher, then lower, then higher. And bingo, the leak went away. I think the bolt wasn't seating into the top hat properly and the change in pressure made it fit perfectly. I have shot about 1,000 balls with the bolt and I have to say that in spite of the trouble, it's worth it. It is incredibly smooth and very efficient. I had a ghetto mod on my stock bolt which helped the efficiency but made the gun kick. There is almost zero kick with the Evolve bolt. And absolutely no shoot down. I have a Musashi chip in my DM5 which allows me to go into ramping mode and I'm telling you even during ramping the ball pattern is very tight with no shoot down.
I have to say I'm thrilled with the bolt in the end. But, I think it is ridiculous that even Evolve itself suggests changing the orings before use. The bolt is expensive and should come ready to go with no additional work required. I would recommend that Evolve test its products before shipping. If mine had worked right out of the box I would give it a ten plus. My rating is less about the performance of the bolt itself than an indictment of Evolve's lack of quality control.
Well there are no problems with this bolt, it will only be louder because of increased pressure and reduced dwell, the back cap ismdifferent but i think it looks kinda cool, it does do what it is advertised to do, it is no heavier than fuse bolt, has much higher quality o-rings, and is a great upgrade. however it is expensive and is not really necessary, but i really like it.
Alot of $$$ but it does work, so it's up to you whether or not you think it's worth it. playing back, it's nice nopt having to fill every other game. now it's every 3 games :)
Makes your DM5 almost 2X more air efficient than the stock bolt!
The O rings that are included need to be changed BEFORE you install it.
Allright. You may have problems with this bolt at first. I found that the Orings that are installed on the bolt and are included with the purchase leak air. So first off I changed ALL the Orings that touch the inner bolt. I lubed it up and VOILA no more leak. Works perfect. The bolt will only leak if orings are not good and this was the case.
Next you need to set up the gun properly for this bolt. You can have your LPR as low as 1 turn and the dwell as low as 10 but you may get bolt stick. I have my LPR at 2 turns out and the DWELL at 12. This makes the gun super air efficient. The colder it is the higher you will want to go.
A 45/4500 tank with the stock bolt at stock settings got about 650 shots. With this bolt and at the setting above about 1100 shots.
The quality of the bolt is not as good as the stock bolt BUT it does what it sets out to do-Make the DM5 more air efficient. Get this bolt if you want to shoot more paintballs out ot of your paintball guns without having to go tho the fill station all the time.
