The ACP Blue bolt is the result of much research, development, and testing with bolt designs, flow improvement, weight reduction, and material selection. Consistant 1/2" diametric flow from inlet to outlet allows zero interference with maximum airflow, improving FPS with any setup. The flat bolt face ensures minimal force can be exerted on a paintball in the wrong place at the wrong time, reducing chops. A third oring groove added to the tip allows for improved efficiency in the breech seal, and dual detent grooves make the bolt compatible with Intimidator setups. Extra long 10-32 threading in the back allows for rear cocking rods, or a setscrew with ball bearing and spring for top cocking quickstrip pins (Intimidator style). The Blue bolt is CNC machined from solid GSM Blue Nylatron, which is impregnated with liquid and solid lubricants for outstanding wear resistance and low friction, self-lubricating properties. Weighing just under 15 grams, the Blue bolt is the lightest bolt available on the market.
The Apocalypse Custom Paintball Blue Bolt is older, so while it may be available used and in a few cases new, it is not commonly available anymore.
Front o-ring reduces blow-back.
Smooth air passages
Won't scratch up breech.
Needs a cocking rod $20.
Mine swelled & needed sanding to fit (since fixed).
I was not able to do a side-by -side velocity test but I can say that since I've started using this bolt I haven't chopped a ball. I suspect this is due to the front o-ring reducing, possibly elliminating, blow-back up the feed tube resulting in faster feeding.
I use a non agitating hopper & w/the stock bolt would chop a ball every 3-4 games (often resulting in blowback pushing paint & bits of shell up the feed tube). I haven't chopped a ball in the day & a half of paintball I've used my Spyder for since. Bear in mind however this is recball w/a mech trigger frame so YMMV.
I was worried the front o-ring would get caught on the ball detent but that hasn't been an issue.
In addition the stock bolt was scratching up the breech area of my marker which isn't a problem w/the material this bolt is made of.
The downsides - you have to get a cocking rod (an Autococker one will work) which, unless you have one, is another $20 or so.
I have one of the early ones which swelled. I had to sand it to get it to fit. APC has apparently fixed this issue though so it shouldn't be a concern for newer bolts. It hasn't swelled more in the past year or so so I guess it's a one-time thing.
If I was back in the market for a Spyder bolt I'd buy one again without hesitation.

Great Seal, no leaks, I got Suction!
Must modify for rear-cocking
Takes forever to get.
I Finally go this bolt after about 4 months, but it was worth the wait. I already had a Magnum AP Striker from ACP, and a Maddman Valve, so I was LP Already. This Bolt is soooooo light, and it seals great! No loss of pressure at all! I got suction from this baby! Suction is when your gun is sealed so well that when the bolt recocks, it sucks air in through the feed neck!! It's great. My 15bps hopper now goes at about 17bps! I had absolutely no recoil because this and all the other parts in my gun are light. I'm now shooting 300fps @ 200psi!!
great for LP, or if u just want to increase your flow. This baby is light, no recoil with this !!

Doesn't come with a cocking rod and knob
other than that, its flaw less
First thing I'd like say is that after i paid online it took like 2 months till i got it, but it was worth the wait and it did get to my house so I was fine with the wait.
When i first got this I could'nt use it because it needed a cocking rod and knob, so I had to buy one and wait till it arived. When I got the knob and rod, it turned out that the rod was way too long for my rear cocking 04 imagine so I had to go buy a threaded rod (in case any one thats getting one, the size was 10-32 x12" and i cut a piece that was like 4/5 of an inch).
finally when I got it in and running,my gun was shooting 327 fps @ 280 psi, with the super fly shorty bolt i was shooting 300 fps @ 280 psi. when i tune my reg to 220 psi still cocking I got between 295 and 300 fps and im staying their. Even with the cocking rod I added it was like half the weight of my delrin super shorty bolt and the inlet port was like half the size bigger than it also. I got a Little noticeable less kick from my gone also.
I recommend its performance if you lik having the best stuff you can use in your gun and if you think you can be patient, Do all these mods and are willing to spend like $75 for all the stuff. Over all it has great performance and ill give it a 10, It really was amazing when I shot it.
