The Q-Lock solves all your hopper issues. Open the quick release lever, insert the hopper, hand-tighten the thumbscrew and then close the lever. No tools needed. The Q-Lock has an abrasive internal surface to securely hold any hopper in its place. The Q-Lock is currently available for all Smart Parts markers. The Q-Lock also fits most center feed Spyder and Piranha markers with an adapter.
Product Availability
The Smart Parts Q-Lock Feed Tube is older, so while it may be available used and in a few cases new, it is not commonly available anymore.

Strengths: Too many words, just see review.
Weaknesses: Grippy metal can slowly sand down your hopper.
Review: Pros:
This thing locks, easily, just tighten the latch.
It holds the hopper very, very tight
It holds the hopper nice and low for a smaller profile
There is some "grippy" metal on the inside which prevents the hopper from sliding out and gets rid of the need to over-tighten.
You don't need tools to tighten it, just open the latch and twist the knob, then re-close the latch.
Very very sturdy, seems like good high quality aluminum that wont break like the infamous ion/impulse feedneck threads tend to usually.

Cons:
Very minor, only that it seems like the rough metal on the inside might slowly sand away some of your hopper. Especially if you dive hard into a bunker, and your hopper twists, it could take somehing out of your hopper, causing the need to tighten again. It would take quite a while for this to make any difference though, just tighten your hopper so it doesn't twist.
Conclusion: It is by far the best feedneck out there. I have had lots of experience with many other feednecks, and this is by far the best one i have encountered.

stock feed neck on the ion, the straight necks on spyders.
Marker Setup: Smartparts Ion Black body, 14" all american barrel with black back and red front, red q-lock, empire b reloader, 47/3000 psi crossfire hpa/nitro tank.
Strengths: Good hold on hopper
Low profile
Light
Weaknesses: Read review, you may not see them as weaknesses.
Review: let me start by saying i use an ion and the stock feedneck sucks really bad, it is a chore to get a gravity feed hopper in it so i had to buy a new feedneck and i came upon the Q-lock. I use an empire b loader and they, like halo b's, have an extremely thick feed port. so i bought the Q-lock and went home and tried to take off the stock neck which is held on by loc-tite which once hardened is apparently not supposed to come off! but after 2 hours of working on it with a special wrench it finally came off, i will give a few more pointers on getting the stock neck off at the end of this review. then i just simply screwed in the Q-lock after cleaning out the remaining loc-tite. someone on a site talking about the ion said to be careful not to screw it in too tightly or else you could ruin the gun which is not true because the ion has a stop built in as to how far the neck can be screwed in, just be careful not to over tork the threads ^_^. but yeah after screwing in the q-lock you are battle ready. you may want to use some lock-tite but it is not necessary most people i know jus screw it in. I will say though that using an empire b reloader i had to sand the neck for about 30 minutes to get it to fit into the q-lock!
JUST REMEMBER: when trying to get off a stock neck that is screwed in you must jerk it if you slowly move it it will not budge trust me.

Other modes to gettin the stock feedneckks off of markers in which the neck is screwed in:
1: if you put the gun in a vice with padding on the gun and drill a hole in the stock neck and stick a screwdriver into it and start cranking it will come off, this is the easiest way. 2: this is what my friend did but i would not try it so dont blame me, if you get a really thick based hopper suck as a halo b and by some miracle can jam it into the stock neck very tightly and jerk the hopper left the loc-tite will break the neck free.
3: if you ducktape the stock feedneck about 10 times around or so and stick it in a vice and jerk the gun to the left it will come free.
Conclusion: Works great but can be a pain to remove the stock neck so it is a pain to install, if you can take it in to your paintball shop and have them do it. Other than that it is a great product and is reasonably priced, which is why i give it a 9

Marker Setup: Smart Parts Ion

CP Sling Blade trigger

Strengths: stays securely
Adjustable with fingers
nice anno job
good grip on hopper
Weaknesses: Having problems with lower end paint.
Review: Well, i've had this feedneck as Long as i've had my ion, along with the stock of course. and I love it, it's quick, easy and secure. but recently i've noticed that some paints (RPS Rampage for example) had bore sizes too large for my feedneck, jamming halfway in and staying there, if i push them through they fire fine, it's not just that the paint is bad, the feed tube is a smaller diameter than the paint.

I'm not sure if this is a problem many have faced, but i'll have to widen it a tiny bit using something or another.
Conclusion: It's a great product, but with mine, and possibly others it wont feed the paint... which seems the least to ask a paint feed neck to do.

Other than this fixable problem, i love my Q-lock, and seeing as i haven't heard the problem anywhere else, you might as well get it

hope this review helps, just be aware that can happen

Lapco Clamping Feedneck- Great feedneck, but the Spyder model was pretty tall. It was easy to use however. I would definatly prefer my Q-Lock over this though.
Ion Stock Feedneck- Simply horrible. It's okay at first if you can fit your hopper into it, but then later on you'll break o-rings and whatnot. Q-Lock is a huge improvemnt
Marker Setup: Red Smart Parts Ion
Q-Lock
All American with 14" Freak Front
S-Rail
SP Bottom Line On/Off
eVLution II
CenterFlag 47/3000
Redz Marker Cover
Strengths: Clamping, Arm Design, Surface Inside (Holds Well), Low Profile
Weaknesses: Expensive to some, Nothing Else
Review: To start off, the stock Ion feedneck is horrible. It doesn't hold well, it's quite tall, and it doesn't look very good either. So, I was upgrading my Ion, and this was the first thing I bought for it. It was a great choice. This feedneck is in my opinion, unmatched when it comes to feednecks. This feedneck is super low profile. With this feedneck, I can make my Eggy II touch my Ion body. Yeah, that's low. I used to own a Lapco Clamping Feedneck for my Pilot ACS. That was a great feedneck too. However, sometimes it would be very difficult to twist the collar and release the hopper. The Q-Lock is simple to use. If your using a thin walled hopper, you must be careful not to over tighten it though. I've never had any problems with it however. For some people, I imagine the price is stoping them from buying this feedneck. Well if that is true, you should really consider it anyways, even if it means saving a bit longer. It looks great and works great. Nothing more. Yet another great product from Smart Parts.
Conclusion: If your looking to replace the Ion feedneck with something of quality, then buy the Q-Lock. I can't think of a better feedneck.

Strengths: Looks Great

Easy Installation
Tightly secures hopper
Many different colors
Weaknesses: None
Review: I saw this feedneck on a lot of ion setups and decided to give it a try. It was about 40$ at my local proshop which is a little high price for a feedneck but well worth it. On an ion it sits the hopper so low that it almost touches the shell and lower profile means less chance of getting splattered. It looks really good also. It was a little difficult to get the stock ion feedneck off, I had to put mine in a vice grip but once it was off, the q-lock is very easy to install. It holds the hopper very securely.
Conclusion: If you have an Ion and still have the stock feedneck you need to buy the Q-lock. You will be greatly satisfied.

Review: I have only used this feed neck for about a week and i will tell you compaired to the stock feed neck this one its the best, i don't think you can buy a better one. I have a ricochet and it locks it in place very tightly so it wont slide to the side or fell off... it doenst even move that thing is on there
Conclusion: i would recommend this feed neck to anyone who has an ION it looks sweet and preforms well

Review: As most everyone knows, the ion stock feedneck is probably the worst feedneck design in paintball. This feedneck should be the first upgrade you get on the ion. I love this feeneck mostly because of its simplicity. Few feednecks are large enough to fit the halo hoppers without them being loose or so tight that you need a vice-grip. The SP Q-lock fits the halo with no problem. It slides in with ease and hold its tighter than you would think. No more strenuous pushing and pulling of hoppers. I have had no problems with this feedneck, its great.
Conclusion: Awesome, perfect, easy to use, recommended for all ion owners.

Sands down hoppers some time. No biggie
Review: I got this Q-Lock as soon as I bought my Ion because of everyone saying the Stock sucks. And they were right.. My stock Feedneck could not hold on to anything. This is very easy to use and will hold 99% of the time. Definitely the first upgrade you want to get on an Ion. 'Nuff Said. The hopper is nice and short so you don't have your hopper standing 5 inches above your marker. (For all your speedballers).

A very small downside could be that is sands down your hopper feedtube over time from the metal inside the Q-Lock. But nobody ever sees that part so no-biggie and its on most hoppers that use Clamp-Locks..
Price could be a issue for some. But its 35 and this should be the FIRST upgrade you get. Yes the stock barrel may not be to some likings but what happens when your hopper falls off the stock feedneck.. then you pretty much can't play. Think about it.

10/10
Conclusion: All in all this should be the first upgrade every Ion owner should have.

Strengths: Dont have to sand down at all (even with halo or empire)
Weaknesses: Nothing
Stays on gun&hopper stays on neck(untigthen&hopper will comes off easily)
Review: I finally got my q-lock and I wanted to make sure i didnt have to sand down my empire b one bit so I put it on at the store and it fits easily with out forcing. I tightened the knob and closed the latch and it held my empire perfectly. My empire was very close to the gun, which is a good thing. Anyways, I shook my gun around and acted like i was running and diving just like you possibly might in a game and it stayed and did not move SWEET. I even tryed to move it forward and backward and side to side and it didnt budge. I opened the latch and untightened the knob and took my empire off very easily by a ship movement (forward backward)
Conclusion: This feed neck is the best clamping feed neck ever. I seen better looking ones but it definitely has the best performance. Many people have halos and empire b's and if you dont want to sand it down at all this is like the only feed neck that it will fit in without doing so. If u have and evo II then im not sure if it closes very tightly on a hopper that small so you migh not want to base what you gonna get as a neck from my review. I love this and if u have a halo or empire b you will to so go and get this feed neck =)

Review: This is a good clamping feedneck that will hold your hopper in place. It is low so it will leave ur gun and hopper staying low avoid hits in the hopper. This feedneck was 35-40 dollars at the local pb shop and is well worth it. I would reccomend this hopper to anyone looking for a great clamping feedneck that is good quality
Conclusion: Get this feedneck!
