For any AKA Viking (Excalibur support coming soon)
The Tadao AKA board for the AKA Viking is a drop-in replacement for the stock circuit board. It brings the new M5 software package to the Viking, including a ball-in-breech indicator, finer debounce increments, anti-mechanical bounce settings, and multiple fire modes to ensure that your marker is legal in any major tournament series. Standard features include unlimited rate of fire semi-automatic, capped semi-automatic, and a new ramping PSP mode that is completely legal for use in the PSP series. It also contains NXL full-automatic and fully uncapped rate of fire in any fire mode. Lastly, the Tadao AKA board offers a test eye mode that shows how fast a user is capable of shooting, or by combining it with the ramping or full-automatic fire modes, can show how fast the marker can actually cycle. Real-time feedback is given using a 7 color, ultra bright LED that shines out the data port. Clear and smoke Lexan data port covers are included with every board.

WAS 1.6 for Vikings--very fast. Not as easy to adjust but not impossible...
Nelson board: not really comparable. It worked, for a while, then died, then you bought WAS or Tadao.
Pandora: Alright, and still fast, but I prefer the 'feel' of WAS or Tadao. Sounds dumb, but it's true. |

| Review: |
I bought a Tadao board from the first run made for AKA guns at the beginning of last summer. I had WAS in my Viking and it was fast and a great board, but I had $100 to burn and so...I gave Will a call!
First impression was great; packaging is very neat and professional. The manual is short, simple and to the point; it's also easy to fold to wallet size which is helpful for forgetful people like me.
Installation was a snap, thanks to the simple AKA harness system and a pair of tweezers so as to prevent any molex-connector-destruction. Tadao includes both a clear and a 'smoke' Lexan dataport covers through which the LED can shine. I can't really see the point of the smoke cover, since the LED can barely be seen, but I suppose it was included to consider the needs of scenario players, since that LED cover would be very useful in a nighttime situation. Nice touch on the part of Tadao.
I set the board to my liking; the prgramming interface is standard trigger stuff, but very easy and--quick! If there was one thing that really bugged me about WAS [and I know it's a very picky thing to say] it's that there's a significant pause in between 'programming' and switching modes, etc...with Tadao it's nigh instantaneous.
I couldn't use WAS at any debounce below 5 without the Viking running away on full auto. With Tadao, I can run the debounce on 2[!] and still have it completely legal. This board is very FAST...on semi I can always be confident that I'll not be at any disadvantage in terms of equipment.
Uncapped PSP or NXL ramping is certainly a great way to show both the potential of whatever loader you're using and that of the Viking. No stupid chops or breaks due to eye logic choking up...well, I've never chopped with my Viking in a year-ish, so I shouldn't be surprised, but still...nice.
One last thing to mention--I use a Revvy often to conserve paint/money and lighten the old load, and Tadao is amazing with it. Set correctly, it'll give you a reliable 13 bps. |

| Conclusion: |
I still love WAS and use it in about 3 or 4 other markers, but Tadao is the ultimate splurge upgrade...it's a hell of a lot of fun, and certainly is very worthwhile [especial;ly considering the rarity of the small run of boards that Tadao made.]
Buy one now! Your life will improve considerably! Bahaha.
I highly recommend this board; I have absolutely no complaints about its performance and indeed can only give it the highest praise. |
