Review: This review is for the Proto Slider Shorts 07 (Little Newer Version)

Most people buy something like this after they take a shot in the crotch, but I bought the Proto Slider Shorts after I took a shot in the middle of the back from 20ft away. This shot brought me to my knees and I got to thinking about what If I took a shot in the crotch from 20ft away…

These are the most comfortable piece of protection you can get. I was in KARATE for 8 years and I had to wear a cup during competition. A cup is not comfortable, especially when you’re sweating from head to toe and your cloths are sticking to you. Proto has incorporated something similar to Under Armors sweat wicking ability’s into their Slider Shorts. I have worn these in 90* weather without any sweat problems.

I know everyone is wondering... does it really stop the pain from a shot at 20 feet?

I can’t vouch for 20 feet, but I’ve taken a shot at 30 feet; it was a cold winter night and I was crawling into a low bunker. Once I reached it I heard a noise behind me and spun around onto my back with my feet towards the person who was approaching me. The moment I flipped myself onto my back a though popped into my mind, and that thought was; “this isn’t a good position to be in”. But it was too late. The attacker launched a volley of paint at me as I tried to crawl away backwards. I didn’t make it any further than the bunker behind me as the balls hit me in the stomach, crotch, and thighs. I felt all the shots, but the shot that hurt the worst was the shot to the stomach and that didn’t hurt at all. When I went over to the campfire, I noticed that only one ball had broken and that was one that hit my thigh. The ones to my crotch all bounced without hurting at all!!

I have also been shot in the crotch during a Civil War match. The lines were 45 feet apart when it happened. I got nailed and hardly felt it, while the guy who shot me yelled; “Oh, Yaeah!! I shot that guy in his balls”. Again, the ball had bounced and everyone on his team didn’t believe that he’d shot me. So my team takes a step forwards and I aim for his crotch since he was so joyful about causing me pain. One shot and I nail him right in the crotch. I can still see him hopping around…
Conclusion: These Pants are defiantly worth twice the $30 I paid for them. An absolute must for those few times you might take that one shot that will ruin your day.

Weaknesses: Built in cup
Review: As this is the first pair of sliding shorts i have purchased, or even tried for that fact.. i am not going to be harsh in my review. These shorts are VERY comfortable. The "hip pads" do what they say (protect you from gettin badly bruised when sliding). As for the cup... i would feel just as safe with a sock in my underwear... but as i have not tried on any other shorts, or even been hit in the cup area while wearing theses shorts i will not put it into consideration whie giving my overall score. I will update when hit in that area, just to let you guys know if the thin pad works.
Conclusion: Very comfortable, And the gel hip pads are Great! great buy if buying just for the hip pads. If looking for a cup too, try on other shorts before buying to make sure you are satisfied.

Eh, no sliding shorts or anythng like that.
Marker Setup: Smart Parts Ion 3000 System
Stock trigger
Freak Barrel w/ 693 insert
Core Feed Neck (adjustable one)
Evolution III Loader(Z board not Y)
Strengths: Colors, padding, comfort
Weaknesses: Groin padding
Review: I got these shorts with my proto pants, and they fit really well. The groin padding is slightly flimsier than what I like, but with the Proto 07's crotch padding, it makes up for it. The hip padding helps protect you when sliding and diving over rough or hard ground. If you got $40 or whatever, go get these. IT'S WORTH IT!!!
Conclusion: Just go get it and you'll see what I mean.

Weaknesses: Groin pad placed a little too high.
Review: I have the 07 proto sliders. I got these shorts new for under $30. The padding is awesome. Nice black with a red padded logo on the sides. The padding is awesome! Thighs, butt cheeks, and hips. The groin padding is placed a little too high. But I guess it will do its thing. The pad in the groinal area seemed a bit... SOFT so i just stuck a bit of cardboard in there just in case :) I got shot in the nads once and I dont want it to happen again! Pretty much there are no weaknesses.
Conclusion: Really nice bit of clothing.I think ill wear em instead of boxer shorts now :P Only little weakness is that the groin padding is a little high, or maybe in just a bit BIG down there HAHA! Great buy!
