Allows you to mount any Custom 98 threaded barrels onto your Tippmann A-5.
It's very short compared to Lapco's barrel adapter, in fact its the same exact size as A-5's stock barrel lug. This should alleviate any worries regarding reduced accuracy due to the barrel plug adding additional friction or not being aligned perfectly to the barrel.
The Blackpoint Engineering JCS Barrel Adapter (Custom 98 to A-5) is older, so while it may be available used and in a few cases new, it is not commonly available anymore.
A5, 3position stock od green, 7inch raider grip, fake magazine, opsgear fot sight, weaver second Handel Green, rufus dawg remote, 14 in teardrop barrel, od Green magpul.lapco barrel adapter
Does what it is supposed to. Doesn't effect accuracy.
You half to dissect the gun to install it.
This product is perfect in every possible way.
If you buy this product you should be pleased i bought mine for $12.75 it is in almost every ones price range.
At first i was new to my A-5 and new little of the internal design. To save you any suffering i shall teach you step by the way to take apart your A-5 and insert this product.
1. Take all paint out off the hopper also remove Co2 or N2 or compressed oxygen or whatever else you have hooked up. put the gun on safety.
2. Remove all screws and quick fasteners remember which ones go were so keep your schematic with you.
3. Now slowly open the body clam shell style be sure nothing falls out especially in places were the Co2 flows.
4. The old barrel adapter should easily pull out if not give it a little tug. Save the thread Adapter just in-case you want to resale the gun having the stock parts raises the value.
5. Put in the JCS Barrel Adapter now put the two half's of the gun together.
6. Screw the half's together this is were keeping the schematic helps out.
7. Now gas up and make sure the gun fires if it does then you did it right if not replace the O rings they cost about $0.25 at a hard ware store. Any further problems consult a pro shop. Last screw in the barrel that you bought this for and have fun.
If you have any Questions send me a private message i will try to help.
This Product is good its like a non electric hopper it is hard to find a spot to mess up.
this product does not directly affect the performance of your marker.

I've shot at least a case of each of crappy wal-mart paint, some decent zap, marbs, and hellfire out through this barrel adpater and only 2 broke! ( 2 Marbs ) There is nothing wrong with this barrel adapter at all. I bought a barrel adapter because I have many 98 barrels just laying around. It works fine on every barrel ( i have 7 different 98 barrels ) and only 2 breaks but that was because it was like 20 degress out. Don't listen to easyPoo go out and buy one off ebay for 15 dollars, it works great!!!!
Buy it if you have an A-5 with some 98 barrels that you don't use anymore!

Evil Pipe, Barrel Kit (Custom 98 threaded).
Other stuff that does not have to do anything with this barrel plug.
Shorter than Lapco's
Some Custom 98 threaded barrels can not be used with it.
I bought this adapter, since its the next most available one after Lapco's adapter. I love my Lapco adapter, its been working fine for me so far. Two things that I really hate about it, is that it adds a good inch and a half to the overall length of the barrel. And that the ball has to travel through that inch by itself, before it actually gets into the barrel. I'm just too paranoid about accuracy of my marker. I always think that the adapter might mess up the trajectory, friction, etc one way or another.
That is why I decided to try this adapter, since its much shorter, and the ball gets straight into the barrel, by being pushed through the adapter by the bolt of my marker.
The barrel-adapter came in, I switched my Lapco adapter with this one, it was looking good. It protruded out of my marker by about half an inch and sat very solidly.
I got my barrel kit, and started to screw in one of the backs. after about one turn the barrel couldn't go in any further, it would start grinding against the threading. After trying ALL of my barrel backs (5 of them), none of them fit into this adapter, and I scratched some of the threads quite a bit, by just trying to screw them into the adapter. If they had a finer threading, like most barrels do, there is a good chance that I would have damaged threading to a point where I wouldn't be able to use them in ANY adapter.
I borrowed my friend's barrel (JT something) which is also custom 98 threaded, and tried it on. It would screw in almost fully, but at the end it started to grind against threading as well, and I didn't want to force it in, since it would have scratched the threads on the barrel quite a bit.
For me personally.... waste of money.
I have JCS's Gold Power Tube, and Rear Velocity Adjuster, and both perform quite well, but this barrel adapter was a total bust. If I receive a new barrel adapter from them, and if it works, I will change this review based on the performance of the new one.
