The MP Air-thru Mag gives your Tippmann A-5 killer mil-sim MP5 looks, as well as practical functionality. Its efficient air-thru design and nipple (ideally positioned) allow you to rapidly attach or detach the quick-disconnect end of your remote line.
The magazine is constructed from super-tough, injection-molded plastic to withstand the brutal punishment of repeated, intense woodsball play. The new, improved anodized tombstone is constructed from 100 percent machined aluminum that provides a super-tight seal.
The Special Ops Paintball A-5 MP Mag to Remote Kit is newer, so it should be commonly available, both new and used.

My quest for the ultimate Mil-Sim marker continues. I picked up the MP Mag kit from Special Ops, which is designed to replicate the magazine of the Heckler and Kock MP5 submachinegun.
The packaging is a simple plastic bag, with a stapled on cardboard closure. It contained the MP Mag.
The body of the 'magazine' is black fiberglass reinforced plastic. The tombstone is black anodized aluminum. When I took mine out of the packaging I noticed that the two halves of the magazine body had a noticable gap between the two halves. The screw could not be tighted further to take in the slack.
FIT AND FINISH
From a play stand point, since it is considerably longer than most other mock magazines, the MP Mag doesn't allow you to get your marker low to the ground if you are shooting from a prone position. also, the remote nipple is placed in the midsection of the mag, which unfortunately means it's a jack of all trades, but master of none. It is a position that doesn't excel at keeping the remote out of the way and snag free.
Unlike the MP5's magazine, the MP Mag has a steeper sweep, which does not allow for vertical grips other than the stock Tippmann version. It also doesn't look terribly authentic due to the magazine body's thickness, which is almost as wide as the marker reciever... However this is one of the only, if not THE only magazine kit that allows you to hook your remote to the magazine. Everything else is non-functional cosmetic add-on or requires the use of the stock ASA line.
CARE AND MAINTAINANCE
For all intents and purposes, you can threat the MP Mag as though it was your stock tombstone (but you might want to lug your stock tombstone and remote adapter around with you in case you develop a leak out in the bush.
A satifactory mod, but not one to go out of your way to get. It does allow a remote hook up which is a unique feature, but the position of the nipple doesn't keep the hose out of harm's way, nor allow you to switch gun hands seamlessly.

Cant get low to the ground cause its long
Well, I waited for SpecOps to get this baby in for quite some time. When they finally got it, I jumped at the chance to buy it. I got mine with the palmer stabalizer in it. Ive played about 6 games with it since. Works great! Only problem was that I had to take the teflon tape off all the fittings and locktite everything back up because it leaked air. After I locktited it, it seemed to stop the major leaking. I still get about 2 minutes of small air leaking through, then it stops. Other than that this thing is great!
Great for people who want an awsome milsim MP5 look.
