| Review: |
I've heard plenty of horror stories of slide checks malfunctioning. Anyone who's played long enough has heard of someone whose day was ruined by a malfunctioning slide check. The ones that come with the remote lines tend to be rather cheaply made, so I instead opted to buy one from a third party that was known for making good equipment.
Lapco is one of the oldest names in the industry. It's been around for well over 20 years. Over the years, they have produced markers (the Grey Ghost), barrels, and other accessories. All have a reputation for quality and reliability. When choosing a quality slide check valve, they were an obvious choice.
The Lapco slide check is much like any other. It is made of heavy duty aluminum, with what appears to be brass or steel at its core. Its weight is very obvious when you first get it, but unnoticeable once it is installed. Installation was simple. Just remove the quick disconnect from the remote line, place blue Loctite on the slide check threads, install it, and then do the same for the quick disconnect. Teflon can be used instead, but it's less bulletproof and you risk a leak. Once the installation was complete, I had no leaks, and it performed flawlessly. |

| Conclusion: |
Lapco made a quality product with this slide check valve. If you are looking for a good aftermarket slide check and do not want to risk a generic brand you should seriously consider buying from Lapco. The price is right, and the quality is superb. Easily 10/10. |
