The Short Striker Rail is the same as the regular Striker Rail, but mounts flush with the front of the A-5. The Short Striker Rail attaches with a widget that fits where your front sight goes, instead of attaching at the rear Flatline shroud screw. This will allow you to install the SSR on any Tippmann A-5 with or without the Flatline Barrel.

Review:
You get what you pay for. A solid railed mount that lets you take advantage of all the great milspec sights, and scopes available. The ability to quickly remove the mount is great for the player who wants to field strip the marker for repairs if needed. There is added weight to the marker -- but this is to be expected. This product works great when used along with a "tac-cap" hopper (30 - 50 rounds): Lets you mount an optical sight over the center line of the barrel for perfect target alignment. I mostly use this combination when I choose to play an ambush/sniper role. If the enhanced optics mounted on this rail don't help your mil-sim game, then the "evilness" quality this product gives your rig should scare the crap out of them at the very least. - lol.
Conclusion:
A must have for the serious milsim player. I recommend it.

Strengths:
High quality materials, most secure I've ever used, very low profile and customizable.
Weaknesses:
Can be hard to get off; in reguards to scope mounts, will/can scratch easily.
Review:
Got this to complete my AK-47 themed A-5 (I didn't like the other mounts available). I have my red-dot scope on the top (or side at times) of the mount. Side mount is perfect for flashlights and laser sights. Don't expect to quickly remove this on the field b/c the front sight mount is pinched by the gun (you'll have to fiddle with it to get out, not difficult though). It fits perfectly on the a-5 (and around the stock hopper) and I can still use the rear sight (in junction with the front sight on my APEX AK-47 barrel).
Conclusion:
I love this mount and recommend it to anyone that would like to have a great low-profile, sturdy, solid, and usefull rail mount to their a-5.
