This Heads-Up-Display (hud) is modeled after the hud used by Appache Helicopter Pilots. Complete with fold up ability to completely clear the users field of view.
The hud's mounting plate is bolted directly to the mask. The hud assembly can then be attached to the mount. This give the user the ability to remove the hud incase of bad weather or non-compliance of field rules.
The hud uses a low power video transitter and receiver to allow the user to see down the barrel of his marker without having to actually be behind the marker. An IR camera mounted to the dovetail of the marker with a video transmitter allow the system to be totally wireless between the marker and player. The Hud has a small enclosure located at the belt of the player that holds the video reciever, antenna, and battery. The camera system has an 8x zoom lens to give finer detail at longer ranges.
The Hud is a very valuable addition to any arsonal. It allows for a player to see around corners without running the risk of being eliminated. It can also be used to intel with a second video receiver back at base for the commanders to see. Or a second receiver can be connected to a video recording device to allow play back at a future time. |
