I expected more from these but in Hybrid's defense, the name & product description only state that it will keep your hands/arms warm. And in that sense, these live up to their hype, albeit a little pricey... but this is Hybrid after all. You're paying for function AND fashion.
- Construction: like i & others have said, these are basically tube socks. Both ends resemble the top of a sock and both ends have a well-stitched thumbhole. The reason behind this is so one Hate Heater can easily be worn on either hand. In other words, there is only one ambidextrous Hate Heater made by Hybrid but for $20 you get two of them. The graphics, much like socks, are sewn directly into the Heaters.
- Design: the way the graphics on the Heaters are placed, a brass knuckle will always be pictured on your right hand while the word 'HATE' will always be on your left. On the underside, there will be two Hybrid symbols on your right palm while the phrase "F You Pay Me" is on the left palm. You could always turn them over in a way so the underside graphics are on top but imo it doesn't look good.
For actual field use, sure you could wear these on the field but they're not padded or reinforced at all so don't expect any protection from dives and don't expect any bounces. You could always wear these over your regular gloves &/or armpads, though, if those don't keep you warm enough and you want to show your Hybrid love.
Now while these are comparable to socks, the funny part is Hybrid's actual '07 socks seem totally different. They're thicker & softer... but that's for a different review. |

These are straight-up casual attire, imo, but they do what they're supposed to and that's keeping your hands/arms warm. |

I bought these because a lot of people have been making a fuss about how cool they are. They definily are more form over funtion. As nerdcore said, I would decribe these as almost a long sock that has two holes for your thumbs. As for there purpose of keeping you wrists warm they work pretty darn good. The only things I really don't like about them are that if you were to dive on a rough field, I have the felling that they might rip. The other complaint I have about them is that there not as thick as I thought and won't give you a single bounce. Overall, if you like reppin Hybrid products and want some cool ass heaters for you wrist, these are the things for you. |
