Paintball Experience: More than 5 years Similar Products Used: US military MOLLE II LBV NXE TH61-s type Vest Raven OBG 4+3 Marker Setup: X7 polished internals E trigger X36 stock J&J 16" W/ APEX tip Crossfire 88/4500 Fixed high Pure energy remote Strengths: Comfort Payload Customizability Cost Weaknesses: Small Hydration bladder Proprietary MOLLE system Storage space Review: I bought this vest to replace my aging LBV which no longer really suited my needs. after shopping around, I decided that the Tac ten vest not only fit all my needs, but was a steal at 131$, with a Single point semi-integrated sling and a hydration bladder. First and foremost, this vest is surprisingly comfortable. it fits fairly tightly, which is a departure from all other vests I've used. It distributes its weight very well, and even with 1400 paintballs, 2liters of water, an 88/45, and a few items stuffed into it, I've forgotten I was wearing it. In addition, while it's not a significant difference, because of how tight it is, it doesn't increase a person's profile quite as much as other vests. not a big difference, but there all the same. The vest is made of a mesh material, which helps with heat management. although it's still fairly insulating, due to the large velcro swatches where the pouches attach, the main shell construction is a mesh material, which helps keep it light and cooler than a cordura vest. The tac ten vest, although made for a limited paint format, carries a surprisingly large payload. ten pods in base configuration, and up to 400 more through the addition of MOD pouches, which, with a 200 round hopper, is a full case of paint (1400+400+200). It's tank carrier is well-attached, and large enough to hold an 88ci tank with little trouble- larger 114 tanks may be something of a tight fit, but still possible. it is a semi-modular setup, and the air tank can be oriented either right or left facing. The payload consideration is most impressive when one stacks it up against other vests- nothing else has a similar payload right out of the box. Spec Ops. Broadsword vests can carry either six or eight pods, Saber vests up to eight, daggers up to seven, only hammer vests top out it's carrying capacity. and even then, hammer vests are no longer widely available, so the only vests that will carry more out of the box are Spec ops custom vests, which can run between 80$ and 200$ more expensive than this. Although I feel one of it's greatest strengths is it's monstrous payload, the vest is capable of being set up for a player's specific needs- within certain limits. this is a strength as well as a weakness- While it is a modular system, It's only modular within the confines of RAP's Velcro-and button snap MOLLE system, as opposed to PALS. This limits choices to what they have available, but they do have a decent arrangement of pouches available, which does sort of make up for it. additionally, it can accept PALS attachments on the sides (the MOD loops), although the MOD loops aren't sized the same as traditional PALS webbing. Cost wise, the vest is simply unbeatable. In paintball, normally you get what you pay for, but in this case, I believe you're getting better than that. While RAP isn't known for their quality as a whole, this vest certainly breaks that tradition. The stitching and materials used are of good quality, although, for you US members, it is made offshore. But again, it can't be stressed how much of an improvement over similar cost vests this is. Other vests that have the closest capabilities are easily 30-70$ more expensive. on a related note, it's also available in several different camouflage patterns- including mossy oak, tiger stripe, and Multicam, among others. Now, the vest isn't perfect. It only has provisions for a 2liter hydration bladder, which is pretty small, weighing in at about 2/3rds the size of most standard hydration carriers. Without access to constant refills, it's too small to be a player's only hydration source, although it is a nice addition, and is carried well, being sited in an internal mesh pocket against the player's back. the bladder pouch is wide enough, however, for a larger carrier, however, it isn't that tall. And the vest lacks in the storage space department. it comes with a name tag pouch and a shotgun shell pouch, both of which are fairly small. The name tag pouch, for example, is good for a rag, or perhaps small flat objects, possibly an energy bar or something of that nature. The shotgun shell pouch is good for 12g CO2 powerlets, but for those of us that don't use anything requiring a 12gram, it's a little small for use as a utility pouch. The vest shell also has built in mesh pockets, which are sited inside the vest. these open to the front with zippers, and while good for maps, are not useful at all for anything a player may need to get at frequently, or while engaged. This storage space dilemma can be somewhat alleviated by use of utility pouches attached to the MOD webbing, but again, the position of that webbing is off for anything that would need to be accessed frequently. IMO, the best option here is to wear a drop-leg rig, which would increase storage space and allow for more frequent access of things stored there. Conclusion: All in all, I'm extremely pleased with this vest. I know i sound like a broken record, but for the price, I'd seriously argue that there's anything better on the market. Between the payload, comfort factor, and features, I'm giving the vest a ten, for the fact that it's easily as good as 150-175$ vests, without the cost. Paintball Experience: 2 years Similar Products Used: Lasco Harness Marker Setup: A-5 Sniper kit with Flatline Barrell and R/T Strengths: Very well put together Weaknesses: Wish there were shoulder adjustments. Review: I cant say enough about this vest. It has all the add that anyone would want especially the tank pouch mounted mid back. You can add any number of pod options and you can carry 1400 balls wow. The pod packs have velcro and buttons so everything is secure. Marker Setup: AGD MiniMag, 24oz Co2 with remote and expansion chamber forgrip. Intelliframe wl blade trigger. Smart Parts Freak kit. Stainless steel back. Barrel is either 7" Freak or 14" All American front. Q-Loader with Custom Mounting Socket (CMS). Strengths: Comfort. Breathable. Fits Q-Loader Pods. Durable fabric. Weaknesses: I see none Review: I bought the Tac Ten Vest because it fits the Q-Loader Pods. I have 8 pods and the vest has room for 10, thus the name. I found the vest to be made of durable material so you do not have to be afraid of playing hard. The vest fits well. You can adjust it in order to fit nice and snug. The harness I had before would always slip down and bump around on my back. Not with this vest. You can change the positions of the different pouches to meet your game needs. The remote bottle is place between your shoulder blades. This puts the tank out of the way when you are down on the ground. Also it balances the weight out. You will not feel the vest much. Well turns out the vest fits me perfectly, I ordered a regular. This vest is a must have for any serious scenario/woodsball player. It fits so comfertable and at the same time can hold SO MUCH PAINT. I can't get over how much paint this sucker can hold, 1400 rounds, that like enough for a 48 hour scenario game. Many would think when carring all this paint it would be uncomfertable,but it is suprizingly comfertable! After about 15 minutes of play, you forget it is even there! The vest is very well built,and is durable. The zipper is a heavy duty one and all the materials on the vest are strong and built to last. But after all it is a woodsball vest, its gotta be made like that. The vest is also very professional looking,with a radio puch and 2 utility pouches, this thing is bad #$$. The vest also comes with 2 inside pouches for storing maps and such, along with a water bladder pouch which can come in handy during long firefights, and I mean long ones. Conclusion: Great vest, must have for scenario/woodsball players! Well built at a fair price! At $99.00 it's a magnaficant buy. It holds 10 140/160 Rd Pods and/or Q- Loader pods and can hold up to and including a 114/4500 Tank. This Vest works on a Molle type system so all the Pods holders and tank holder all are interchangable.. so that means if your going light one day.. you cna remove what you want and add a pistol holder or something else etc.. You can change it in so many ways. It has molle straps on the sides that you cna add pouches for smoke or grenades or whatever else you please. The vest is very breathable and the insides have zipper pocket areas to hold maps or things of that nature. They are so adjustable a small player or even a big guy can fit in them comfortably.. I am 6'7" 350 LBS myself and mine ( large size) fits like a dream1. The vest transfers the weight so nicey.. that after a few minutes it doesn't feel like your even carrying anything on your back. I have a 92/4500 tank and I honestly can't even feel it when I play at all. The comes in a number of cammo patters now, multicam, ACU, OD, Black, Woodland, MARPAT, and Mossy OAK ( Hunters camo) etc.. so you have plenty of camo patters to choose from. Conclusion: I love my tac ten vest.. it's the best vest I have ever used hands down and it costs half the price of a similar model from Special Ops Paintball. You cannot beat the value for the price.. Interchangable holders, ability to carry 1300 + rounds on you, radio, maps and tons of other scenario type stuff comfortably and in style. The vest has innerchangable set ups from the guys the shoot pistols from the heavy shooter what needs the paint. With the 4 down and a tank on the back leaves the vest balanced and well weighted.
