| Review: |
Well I bought it just 2 weeks ago mainly because my wife was very piss at me because of the bruises I got most of them in my torso or legs every weekend (some of them pretty bad) so I went to my local store and got this for only 25 USD which I though was pretty neat, after playing with it for two consecutive weekends here is what I think about this product:
Pros:
Breathable, you can feel the air going thru the shirt so you never get really hot, which is great as you have to be rushing from a bunker to another
Padding and I?m not sure if this is good or bad, but padding is really thick so if you get shot in the padding you won?t feel any pain at all. Obviously there will be no paintball bruises on you at all but also as padding is really think it seems at least to me that it can turn to be a little bit uncomfortable to move freely maybe I just need to get used to it
As for overall protection the padding on the back seem to be the best of this protective shirt as it is very well distributed as for the front there are some gaps in between the pads that allows to be shot directly in the body so the padding doesn?t really help that much for the chest and abdominal area, as per the shoulders I got shot from a good 6 yards directly in my left shoulder and although the ball broke in the padding after the day was over I checked and there was no marks on the skin, so far so good
Cons:
As mentioned before the padding area on the chest and abdominal area is very loosen and placed far from each other giving a good chance to be hit in between, so no really good protection on that area
Also on the sides there is no protection at all so if for any reason you get hit in the love handles area, well that will hurt (maybe a harness can help a little bit)
Finally the fabrics are very rough and hard so you may need to use a t-shirt underneath
*UPDATE* 8/6/2007
After several weekends (months) of paintballing I'm changing my rating from 7 to 8 as this has saved me from several painfull hits and it looks like new also alot of bounds

| Conclusion: |
Overall it is a good protection for you back and shoulders, not that good for chest and abdominal area but still is better that nothing as there is always a good chance to be shot in the padding instead of the naked skin. For the price range I would recommend it but if you have some extra cash to spend it may be better go with something else
