Monkey with a Gun Heroes for a Day, the XSV Story Reviews
Over three years in the making this epic movie is a rare, unscripted behind the scenes look at the professional paintball world you won't find anywhere else.
ďThis isnít a game; itís a fight. Knuckles bare, fists clenched white, all weapons approved, and the bastards of the world are waiting in the shadows with broken bottles and big grins. And this fight is fought everyday. On long highways, dirty couches and floors, rock hard dirt fields and shaking planes. In foreign lands, lost, hated, broke. Itís the battle to prove to the world that your small part, your pinprick slice of existence, matters. That even if the sun explodes tomorrow and scatters us screaming into the void, we go smiling because we had faith in ourselves, faith to gather a tribe and try to make our own reality. Nobody gives you anything until you make them understand. Thatís why we formed this team, to make people understand.Ē
The Monkey with a Gun Heroes for a Day, the XSV Story is newer, so it should be commonly available, both new and used.

Narrator perspective, backround info
Just got started in paintball 7 weeks ago. I've seen Shatner's DVD Splatt and enjoyed it (7/10 rating). I've seen some tournament play on ESPN2, but wanted more insight on tournaments & tour players. This DVD was interesting in that it was a good character study of the individuals involved. I would have preferred a little more background on the tournaments themselves to add perspective on the teamís mindset following a given competition. The director did a good job of capturing candid moments that give insight into the playerís motivation, perspective, etc. The included booklet is just a photo collage nearly devoid of text & action and not particularly interesting compared to the images found in the monthly paintball magazines. I donít think itís worth $35 bucks, but I have limited experience w/ DVDís in this genre, so take that opinion w/ a grain of salt.
I think the cost is high, but it was interesting. My son & I will watch it again, but not a third time.
Not too much background, very centred in rich telford.
this is a great movie, it all had a reason to be in the film, even the clouds at the beginning were cool.
this is a video that shows all the complications involved in putting a team together and most important... keeping their players active and positive, its not easy to be in a team and certantly not easy at all to lead a team, that`s the reason the film was very focus on rich telford, thats ok, but something I didn`t quite like about the movie was that for me and i think a lot of people, they did not show enough the rest of the players in the aspect of seeing their perspective of the team, plus... since im a fan of this team, I was specting to see all the playes and their lives alot more,
ok i agree that it was about the assembly of the team not a novel by the players..
what I enjoyed the most was to see all those great players beeing humans, with mistakes, feelings, dreams and point of view, instead of making them look all cool and superheroes..
This is a must, if you are in a competitive speedball team, seeing the pros handling common team problems, and the way the do things.. Great great great way to put some motivation in your team guys.
Slow at some points, kinda makes the movie seem long
I loved this movie. Simple as that. I loved how they showed not only the good, but the bad parts from playing in professional tournaments. They showed every detail in their careers. They had many steps to over come, and thats what made this movie good. The ending was exciting, and made the entire watch worth it.
Loved it, thats all. Even when the slow boring parts came, I was still drawn to it because every team has to go through those things. I enjoyed every minute of it, and will probably watch it again in the near future.
This movie was very good overall. Very interesting seeing the lives of professional paintball players, their feelings and thoughts. It comes with a little booklet of photos and stickers which are pretty cool. Lots of bonus features which are pretty cool.
The movie has plenty of actual game clips which makes it very entertaining and informational.
Although a bit long for people who arent as interested, about 2 hours, this movie is very well made and worth watching for any paintball player.
I recommend watching this movie to everyone, and I find that this movie is worth buying even though its high price.
